The Sat Dalmas of the Polres of Tasikmalaya City carries out the SELASA program (Direct-Targeted Charity), reaching 50 orphans supported by the Squad Hijrah Parkir Mannaku community.
progresifjaya.co.id, TASIKMALAYA – The Public Order Unit (Dalmas) of the Polres of Tasikmalaya City held a routine religious gathering and provided financial assistance to 50 orphans on Tuesday afternoon, October 13, 2026. The initiative was organized under the program name SELASA (an acronym for Sedekah Langsung Sasaran—Directly Targeted Charity).
The event took place at the Dalmas barracks, located within the police housing complex (Aspol) area in the Cipedes District, Tasikmalaya City.
The SELASA program serves as a form of social outreach, while also aiming to strengthen the bond between the Polri and the community.
The 50 orphans—who are supported by the Squad Hijrah Parkir Mannaku community—received aid collected through voluntary contributions from members of the Dalmas unit and the broader Satuan Samapta of the Tasikmalaya City Police.
Ustaz Aep Saepudin, a mentor for the Squad Hijrah Parkir Mannaku community, expressed his appreciation for the Dalmas unit’s gesture in sharing joy with the orphans.
According to him, such attention and affection are vital, providing the children with the encouragement to continue moving forward in life with hope.
“For these orphans, what matters most is not just the financial aid they receive, but also the attention, affection, and care that make them feel they are not alone,” said Ustaz Aep.
He expressed his hope, that initiatives like this will continue and serve as an inspiration for others to cultivate a spirit of giving, according to their respective means.
“May this act of kindness become a source of spiritual reward (amal) for everyone involved. Hopefully, more people will be moved to share and show care for orphans,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Sat Samapta of the Polres of Tasikmalaya City, AKP Hartono, stated, that the SELASA program is a form of social concern demonstrated by members of the Polri through concrete actions within the community.
He further noted, that the presence of the police is not limited to the duty of maintaining security and public order, it also encompasses building close ties and fostering humanitarian values.
“The duty of the police is not merely to maintain security and order, but also to build a close relationship with the community and cultivate care for one another,” said AKP Hartono.
He added, that through the SELASA program, they aim to instill a spirit of sharing—one that can begin with simple steps, provided they are carried out with sincerity and a sense of togetherness.
“We want to share happiness while encouraging everyone to continue spreading kindness. Showing care does not require waiting until one has an abundance, it can begin with what we already possess, as long as it is done with a sincere heart,” he explained. (Bembo)
