Wakapolda Metro Aims to Transform Kampung Ambon into a Healthy Neighborhood, Implementing a One-Gate System to Prevent Drug Activity

Wakapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Adex Yudiswan, provides instructions to 100 Bhabinkamtibmas officers to conduct a census of residents in the Permata Complex—an area widely known as Kampung Ambon.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Wakapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Adex Yudiswan, issued directives to 100 Bhabinkamtibmas (community police officers) to conduct a census of residents in the Permata Complex—commonly known as Kampung Ambon—located in RW 07, Kedaung Kaliangke Village, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

This data collection follows enforcement operations against drug trafficking in the area, carried out by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Directorate of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Dirtipidnarkoba Bareskrim Polri), the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya, and the Narcotics Unit of the Polres Metro of West Jakarta.

Speaking from the “Polisi Bersama Masyarakat” command tent, Irjen Pol Adex emphasized that this initiative is intended to realize the Kapolri’s program, which focuses on the police being actively present within the community.

“What we are doing today is ensuring that the Kapolri’s ‘Polisi Bersama Masyarakat” program is brought to life,” said Irjen Pol Adex.

Irjen Pol Adex also instructed the Bhabinkamtibmas officers, Babinsa (military personnel assigned to community outreach), and Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) officers to directly assess the residents’ needs—ranging from their employment aspirations to their hopes for the future of their neighborhood.

He further introduced a one-gate system—a single entry and exit point—for the Permata Complex. This system is designed to prevent drug trafficking and monitor individuals from outside the area entering Kampung Ambon.

“The Kapolda Metro Jaya intends to establish a system and implement programs based on what the community desires. For instance, this could include English language classes, recreational spaces, or culinary areas in Kampung Ambon,” Irjen Pol Adex explained.

He added, that he aims to reshape the image of Kampung Ambon—long associated with drug transactions—into a healthy and clean neighborhood. In carrying out their duties, Bhabinkamtibmas (community police officers) are also instructed to apply the 5S approach: senyum*(smile), salam (greet/offer salutations), sapa (engage in conversation), introduce themselves, and explain their programs to the community.

Furthermore, they are tasked with affixing a “Polisi Bersama Masyarakat” sticker to the front of residents’ homes.

The activity was attended by the Kapolres Metro of West Jakarta, Kombes Pol Nasriadi, representatives from the Polda Metro Jaya’s Special Criminal Investigation and Narcotics Investigation Directorates, the Commander of Military District 0503/West Jakarta; as well as the Head of RW 07, Yeni Napitupulu, and local RT (neighborhood unit) heads.
