progresifjaya.co.id, GARUT – The Polres Garut are conducting Operation Patuh Lodaya 2026 until November 8. Throughout the operation, the police are targeting various traffic violations that pose risks to the safety of road users.

The operation, which began on October 26, 2026, is being carried out simultaneously across the jurisdiction of the Polda of West Java for a duration of 14 days. Enforcement efforts focus on specific violations, notably driving against the flow of traffic, the use of non-compliant vehicle license plates, the use of loud/unauthorized exhaust systems (brong exhausts), and vehicles that fail to meet technical specifications or lack required safety equipment.

Kapolres Garut, AKBP Niko N. Adi Putra, conveyed a directive from the Kapolda of West Java, Irjen Pol Hengki, which underscores the importance of enhancing traffic discipline to lower the number of accidents and fatalities.

“Traffic safety is a shared responsibility. Through Operation Patuh Lodaya 2026, we aim to reduce the number of traffic violations and accidents, while fostering greater discipline and compliance among the public,” stated Kapolres Niko at the Polres Garut Headquarters on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

In addition to addressing priority violations, the operation targets motorists who use mobile phones while driving, fail to wear seatbelts, run red lights, disregard road markings and signs, exceed speed limits, or fail to wear helmets.

Other violations under scrutiny include the use of non-compliant license plates, carrying more passengers than permitted, entering lanes reserved for buses, and parking in prohibited areas—including on sidewalks.

In its execution, the police are prioritizing educational and preventive measures through a persuasive and humanistic approach. Law enforcement is carried out through electronic systems as well as formal warnings, depending on the nature of the violation and the applicable regulations.

The Kapolda of West Java has also instructed personnel to perform their duties in a professional and proportionate manner. Enforcement actions must be firm, yet conducted with courtesy when providing service to the public.

Operation Patuh Lodaya 2026 carries the theme, “Police and the Community Working Together to Achieve Orderly, Safe, and Secure Traffic”.

Its success is expected to be measured not only by the enforcement of traffic violations but also by an increase in driver compliance and a reduction in the risk of road accidents. (Bembo)
