progresifjaya.co.id, SUBANG – Kapolres Subang, AKBP Andi Purwanto, visited the Ash-Shidiq Mosque in the Otista Karanganyar area on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at approximately 4:00 AM. His visit was part of a program known as Suling Amis—a series of morning prayer visits—rather than a routine police patrol.
Accompanied by the Deputy Police Chief and other senior officers from the Polres Subang, Kapolres Andi sat on the floor alongside the congregation following the prayer. Rank distinctions faded away, replaced by a casual conversation regarding neighborhood security.
“I want to hear directly from you all about what causes concern at night—beyond just what is written in official reports,” said Kapolres Andi.
Seizing the opportunity, residents shared their concerns regarding urban crime, which remains a source of unease. These insights were carefully noted to help inform future patrol strategies and crime prevention efforts.
“As the city grows busier, the potential for crime increases as well; our duty is to prevent incidents before they occur,” he explained.
The Suling Amis initiative serves as a way for the Polres Subang to open a dialogue without barriers, allowing residents to voice concerns without needing to visit the police station.
“When residents and police get to know each other during the morning prayer, it makes our work easier later in the day, as a foundation of trust has already been established,” Kapolres Andi added. (Bembo)
