Together with Wakapolri, Komjen Pol Wahyu Hadiningrat, Komjen Pol Asep Safrudin reportedly spearheaded the apprehension of Listyo Sigit on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Details regarding this operation were shared by the former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD.
Mahfud revealed that prior to Listyo Sigit’s involvement in the case, six other Polri officers—holding the ranks of Inspector General (Irjen) and Senior Commissioner (Kombes)—had already been taken into custody.
These six officers reportedly confessed to conducting the wiretapping under orders from Listyo Sigit. The targets of the surveillance allegedly included President Prabowo and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
“I didn’t hear about this just this morning (Wednesday), i actually heard about it yesterday morning (Tuesday). The arrests were made on Sunday night—six individuals were taken into custody at the residence of a former Kapolri. Among those arrested were three Inspectors General and a Senior Commissioner (Kombes),” Mahfud stated on his personal YouTube channel on Wednesday, November 3, 2026.
Mahfud acknowledged, that he is aware of the identities of the officers who were detained. However, he is not yet prepared to disclose their names to the public, as he is awaiting further developments regarding how the case is being handled at the Polri Headquarters.
He then revealed the accounts provided by the six officers concerning the person alleged to have ordered the wiretapping.
Following these statements, Listyo Sigit Prabowo was reportedly picked up by the Wakapolri and the Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim).
“The six individuals stated that they had wiretapped the President and the Cabinet Secretary. When asked who gave the order, they identified the Kapolri (Listyo Sigit Prabowo). Consequently, in the middle of the night, Listyo Sigit was picked up by the Wakapolri and the Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency,” he explained.
Furthermore, Mahfud mentioned, that Listyo Sigit was released around 5:00 AM on Tuesday. He stated that he doesn’t know the exact reason behind that decision.
Nevertheless, Mahfud suspects, that the decision may have been linked to a threat made by Listyo Sigit, who allegedly claimed he would reveal various secrets involving high-ranking state officials.
Despite his brief release, the investigation at the Polri Headquarters continued, ultimately resulting in Listyo Sigit being named a suspect.
“So, after some back-and-forth regarding what he offered—essentially a ‘let’s face it’ scenario—Listyo Sigit was named a suspect,” said Mahfud. The case involving the alleged wiretapping of President Prabowo Subianto and several other prominent figures—said to have taken place between 2025 and 2026—has ultimately led to Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit, Irjen Pol Ahrie Sonta Nasution, Irjen Pol Eko Hadi Santoso and Irjen Pol Slamet Uliandi being named as suspects.
