Lemkapi Survey: 83,5 Percent of the Public Believe the Polisi Bersama Masyarakat Program Will Bring Change

Executive Director of Lemkapi, Edi Hasibuan.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polri Bersama Masyarakat initiative, launched by the Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Suyudi Ario Seto, has received a positive response from the public. A national survey conducted by the Indonesian Police Strategic Studies Institute (Lemkapi) reveals that 83,5 percent of respondents believe the program will bring significant change to the Polri institution.

Lemkapi Executive Director, Edi Hasibuan stated, that this high level of confidence indicates that the public has great expectations for the reform of the Polri, driven by a program focused on public needs.

According to Hasibuan, the Polisi Bersama Masyarakat program employs an approach closely aligned with the daily lives of the public. Key priorities include combating drug trafficking and online gambling, improving public services, and optimizing emergency response systems—such as the 110 Call Center and the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT)—to be more accessible and user-friendly for the community.

“We are optimistic that Kapolri Suyudi’s Polisi Bersama Masyarakat program will lead to a better Polri force—one that is truly embraced by the public. I hope that, moving forward, this initiative becomes deeply ingrained and secures a place in the hearts of the people,” said Edi Hasibuan on Friday, October 30, 2026.

The survey, conducted between October 17 and 28, 2026, involved 800 respondents, reached through a network of university students across all provinces in Indonesia. The study utilized a multistage random sampling method, with a 95 percent confidence level and a margin of error of 3 percent.

In addition to the 83,5 percent who expressed confidence, the survey noted that 12,1 percent of the public remain uncertain about whether the program will bring about change.

This skepticism stems partly from the fact that the Kapolri has been in office for less than a month. Meanwhile, 4,4 percent of respondents offered no opinion. Edi Hasibuan, a member of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) for the 2012–2016 term, believes that the survey results reflect the public’s hope for reform within the Polri. He noted, that the positive response, which has emerged since the launch of the Polri Bersama Masyarakat program, serves as a vital asset for the force as it undertakes improvements.

“We have observed a positive public response. Since the Polri Bersama Masyarakat program was introduced, many in the community have welcomed it, expressing hope for significant changes within the Polri. This serves as a major asset for reforming the institution,” said Edi.

The Chairman of the Indonesian Association of Law and Criminology Lecturers (Adihgi) added, that public trust must be met through the consistent implementation of the program. Key areas where the public expects to see tangible benefits include the eradication of drugs and online gambling, improvements in the quality of public services, and easier access to police services.

Ultimately, the Polri Bersama Masyarakat program is expected to go beyond its initial launch; it must be realized through concrete actions and services that are increasingly responsive to the needs of the community. (Bembo)
