Korlantas Polri Continues Innovation to Perfect the K3I System

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) continues to accelerate its innovation program to modernize high-quality, digital-based public services. Most recently, this innovation has been implemented in the form of an operations management system called K3I. This is an integrated system that combines elements of control, coordination, communication, and information within a single digital platform.

The emergence of K3I also serves as a sign of strengthening traffic management, which is always adaptive to societal dynamics. It is like a chord in the rhythm of the Polri’s transformation, whose beat always follows the direction of the Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

The Head of the Korlantas Polri, Irjen Pol Agus Suryo Nugroho, explained in a statement today that, K3I was created to serve as an operational foundation to support personnel in the field. It also aims to facilitate the control of activities so that they are always accurate and accountable, fulfilling the needs of national traffic service delivery.

“Technology is a crucial instrument for the Traffic Police. The use of this technology aims to strengthen the quality of interactions with the public, while also ensuring that every operational decision is based on valid, real-time information,” explained Irjen Pol Agus on Saturday, (29/11).

The Korlantas Polri, he added, always wants to ensure that every security, regulatory, and service task carried out can continue to be consistent and measurable. And this can only be achieved through the use of the K3I technology system.

In its implementation, the K3I system was specifically designed to be usable in various locations. K3I operations can be carried out from regional police (Polda) points, precinct (Polres) points, command posts, and even to the locations of personnel on duty in the field. Furthermore, this system is equipped with web-based applications and mobile devices to assist in digitally presenting visual data for easy interpretation. Another advantage is that leaders will be able to directly and comprehensively observe the situation on the ground and provide direct direction as needed.

Regarding the operational monitoring mechanism, this technology system is designed to have a single control center connected to all devices in the field. Thus, all officer movements, escorts, traffic management, and live situation reporting will be quickly captured and monitored simply by utilizing this system. Another additional function of this system is that it can help align the situation between officers and the command post. This allows immediate tactical steps to be taken without having to wait for manual reports. This also includes cross-subsector coordination within the Traffic Corps.

The K3I technology system can also accelerate decision-making in providing situational guidance based on the data obtained. Furthermore, this strengthened coordination has been proven to create a planned response, particularly during major operations or national agendas.

The information component within K3I is known to present real-time data for all ongoing or past activities. This technology system works by collecting, processing, and displaying information from various units. This information, based on the actual situation in the field, then serves as a reference for making decisions regarding personnel requirements, facility reinforcement, and daily work evaluations.

Communications within the K3I technology system are also designed to convey field messages to the command post via video call. This feature also has the added capability of verifying situations so leaders can immediately see the conditions facing their members. This enriches the analysis and can serve as a reference for making necessary decisions in fast-moving situations, such as securing demonstrations, disasters, or traffic engineering.

The Kakorlantas Irjen Pol Agus further explained, that the K3I technology system can also be considered a unifier of various Polri digital devices into a single, interconnected operational ecosystem. This program also seems to align with efforts to revitalize ETLE and improve Regident services such as Signal and Sinar.

“K3I represents a new face for the Traffic Police, one that is increasingly closer to the public. We have also earned the public’s trust by consistently providing transparent services. This includes the emergence of K3I, which is expected to address the increasingly complex challenges of traffic,” said Irjen Pol Agus.

It should also be noted, that the K3I technology system was initially established by the Korlantas Polri in 2021. Development has since been accelerated phase by phase to quickly reach the refinement stage for use. This includes developing a foundation for international security needs, strengthening standards for access and information management, and finally, mobile integration and dashboard development.

Entering 2024, K3I development finally reached the capacity building phase and began distributing specialized equipment to several major regional police (Polda). In 2025, K3I development continues, adding new areas and incorporating three-dimensional maps for visual analysis.

The K3I technology system is also known to play a supporting role in various major national operations. For example, Operation Candle, Operation Ketupat, Operation Zebra, Operation Patuh, and Operation Safety. This system has also proven capable of supporting security for major international events such as the G20, the ASEAN Summit, the AIS Forum, and the World Water Summit.

The use of K3I is now also recognized for its ability to generate valid and accurate field reports. Dynamics in each major operation can be directly detected and responded to in a timely manner. Perfect. (Bembo)
