Two Suspects Caught Selling Illegal Ammunition in West Jakarta, Jatanras Sub-Directorate Seized

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – A case of illegal ammunition possession in West Jakarta was successfully cracked by the Operational Team of Unit 1 of the General Affairs/Jatanras Sub-Directorate, Directorate of General Crimes, Polda Metro Jaya. This case was cracked following a confession from RS, another suspect who had previously been arrested.
During the raid, a middle-aged male suspect with the initials OA (55) was apprehended. Hundreds of rounds of ammunition of various calibers, from 9mm, 22mm, and 45mm, were also seized as evidence. In addition to the ammunition, 17 firearm magazines, three airsoft magazines, one firearm book, and two boxes of pistol spare parts were also seized.
The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto explained, that the seizure of OA was based on RS’s testimony during the investigation. He admitted to obtaining all the ammunition from OA.
Based on this information, the Operational Team from Unit 1 of the General Affairs/Jatanras Sub-Directorate, led by Head of Unit 1, Kompol Roland Olaf Ferdinan, immediately moved quickly to the rented house occupied by OA on Wednesday evening (26/11) at around 9:30 PM. He was eventually seized.
“We never give room to anyone who tries to distribute ammunition or firearms without a permit. We will definitely take firm and measured action against those who try,” stated Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto to the media on Wednesday, (2/12).
He also stated, that the crackdown on this case demonstrates the Polda Metro Jaya’s commitment to eradicating all forms of illegal arms and ammunition distribution.
He also urged the public to actively report any suspicious activity, including suspected illegal firearms and ammunition.
“Report immediately through the Polri call center at 110. This service is free and operates 24 hours a day,” he reminded them. (Bembo)
