Six Police Officers Named Suspects in the Assault of Two Debt Collectors, Leading to Death at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA — The Polri have revealed the latest developments in the assault case that resulted in the deaths of two people at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP), South Jakarta.
In a press conference held on Friday evening, December 12, 2025, at 10:40 PM WIB, the Head of Public Information for the Polri Public Relations Division, Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko explained, that investigators have named six police officers from the Polri Headquarters Service Unit (Yanma) as suspects in this case. The six suspects are identified as JLA, RGW, IAB, IAM, BN, and AM.
“The suspect determination was made after investigators found sufficient preliminary evidence. The six are suspected of assault under Article 170 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code concerning assault resulting in death,” said Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo.
In addition to criminal proceedings, the Polri are also prosecuting the six personnel for violating the Polri Professional Code of Ethics. Based on a case review conducted by the Polri’s Professional and Security Division on Friday evening, it was concluded that the six officers committed serious violations as stipulated in Police Regulation Number 7 of 2022. This conclusion will be presented to the Polri Code of Ethics Commission hearing scheduled for Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo further stated, that the Polri acted swiftly upon receiving the first report. Initial steps taken included crime scene investigation, witness examination, victim evacuation, and location security.
“The Polri have taken intensive steps over a 24-hour period. We conducted crime scene investigation, questioned 12 witnesses, secured evidence, and provided assistance to the victim’s family,” explained Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo.
In this case, two victims, Miklon Edisafat Tanone (41) and Novergo Aryanto Tanu (32), were pronounced dead as a result of the assault that occurred on Thursday afternoon, December 11, 2025. One victim died at the scene, while the other died after receiving treatment at Budi Asih Hospital.
The incident itself began on Thursday at 3:45 PM WIB. At that time, the Pancoran Polsek received a report via 110 regarding the alleged assault of two men in the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery parking area. When officers arrived at 4:00 PM WIB, both victims were found with serious injuries.
In addition to the assault, several public facilities, including kiosks and vehicles near the scene, were also burned. This case was then officially reported to the Polda Metro Jaya at 8:11 PM WIB.
In handling this case, the Polda Metro Jaya continues to coordinate with the victims’ families, owners of damaged facilities, local government officials, and community leaders to maintain a conducive situation and ensure the recovery process runs smoothly.
“We continue to maintain security around the scene to prevent further incidents and ensure public safety,” said
Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo.
Meanwhile, regarding the initial sequence of events when two victims, who were also debt collectors, stopped a vehicle used by police officers, Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo replied that the handling process is still awaiting an official report.
“We will follow up on the report professionally. The report has not yet been received, and we will provide official updates once it is received,” he said.
Nevertheless, he reiterated that the investigation of this case remains professional, transparent, and impartial, even though the suspects are police officers.
“The Polri don’t tolerate unlawful acts. We reiterate this. Law enforcement is carried out objectively, professionally, and without favoritism,” Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo explained.
