progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya explained that the number of reports of losses related to the Ayu Puspita wedding organizer (WO) fraud case continues to grow. To date, the Polda Metro Jaya’s Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) complaint post and its staff have received 277 reports from the public.

Meanwhile, material losses due to the Ayu Puspita wedding organizer fraud have reached Rp18.4 billion. This figure is certain to continue to rise as investigators conduct data collection and further investigation.

“The legal process and data collection on the number of victims and losses are still ongoing. So, it is certain that the numbers related to this case will continue to rise,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, some time ago.

The owner of the WO and con artist, Ayu Puspita, has been named a suspect and detained along with another suspect, a man identified as DPH. Both are charged under Article 372 of the Criminal Code concerning Embezzlement and/or Article 378 of the Criminal Code concerning Fraud. The maximum penalty is four years in prison.

As is known, the con artist, Ayu Puspita, carried out her fraudulent scheme by offering honeymoon packages and enticing amenities to attract victims. All of these were promised to victims when offering her services.

“The wedding organizer’s services were able to attract victims because of the enticing offers of facilities and affordable packages,” explained the Director of Criminal Investigation at the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin, to the media some time ago.

And even sneaky, continued Kombes Pol Iman, the con artist, Ayu Puspita, still boldly promised fantastic wedding venues and other amenities at low prices.

Even more outrageous, mimicking the style of elite con artist Anna Sorokin (Anna Delvey) from Manhattan, New York, Ayu Puspita also builds her charm to further convince her victims by offering them free vacation packages. One such offer is a honeymoon to the Island of the Gods, Bali.

“There’s a promise of an attractive vacation package to Bali, for example. The tour package includes a honeymoon. Obviously, that’s a very attractive offer for victims. So, they fall for it,” Kombes Pol Iman concluded his statement. (Bembo)
