progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – As the first day of Ramadgan 1447 Hijriah approaches, Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri is urging all levels of society to work together to maintain public order and security (Kamtibmas) in Jakarta and its surrounding areas. This collective commitment is crucial to ensuring that the community’s religious activities can proceed peacefully and calmly. This year’s Ramadhan is also expected to be a momentum for the emergence of real social order.

“I invite all of us to work together to prove that Ramadhan is not only a time for worship, but also a time for the real presence of our social calm, both in our villages, on the streets, at work, and in the digital space,” said Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ in his call on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

As is also known, Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ previously held a large-scale Public Order and Security (Kamtibmas) Alert Roll Call to ensure security readiness. During the roll call, which deployed a full force involving at least 10.000 joint personnel and various community elements, Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ also conveyed five key messages to the public about maintaining public order and security.

He also instructed his staff and all security partners to increase vigilance through the Community Security Unit (Satkamling) and Community Order and Security Group (Pokdar Kamtibmas). This step was taken to prevent potential disturbances such as brawls or conflicts between residents that often arise during the fasting month.

“Activate neighborhood vigilance. Take early precautions against potential brawls, conflicts, or other disturbances,” he emphasized.

The two-star general, a graduate of the Panaluan Single Battalion, Akpol 1994, also reminded the public to use social media wisely. He asked them not to be easily provoked by hoaxes during the holy month.

“Obey the rules, respect others, behave yourself in public spaces, and maintain ethics in the digital space. Filter information before sharing it,” he added.

Concluding his statement, Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ also conveyed his best wishes for a happy fasting month to all Muslims, especially Jakarta residents.
