Polda Metro Jaya Provide Humane Security for Public Demonstration in Front of Polri Headquarters

Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA — The Polda Metro Jaya provided humane security for a public demonstration (unras) in front of Polri Headquarters on Friday, February 27, 2026. A total of 3,992 personnel were deployed for this humane security operation. These personnel comprised 3,093 personnel from the Polda Metro Jaya, reinforced by personnel from the district police (Polres).

This personnel deployment was intended to ensure the demonstration proceeded in an orderly manner and to maintain a conducive atmosphere for public activities during the holy month of Ramadhan.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, stated in a statement, that the Polri is present in the community by prioritizing a humane approach and respecting human rights. He also emphasized that the police’s role is not limited to enforcing the law, but also to act as guardians of life, builders of civilization, and protectors of humanity.

“The police play a role as guardians of life, builders of civilization, and champions of humanity. In carrying out our duties, we prioritize service, protection, and humane law enforcement,” he said.

He also stated, that the thousands of security personnel deployed were positioned at several strategic points, including community activity centers and main traffic routes. This positioning aims to protect the public’s constitutional right to express opinions, even if it disrupts the public interest.

“The right to express opinions is protected by law, and we guarantee that. However, we also urge all parties to maintain order and not be easily provoked,” he added.

In response to security measures for this rally, the Polda Metro Jaya has prepared traffic engineering and diversions. However, these measures are situational and depend on developments on the ground. These measures are also preventative measures to prevent potential congestion that could disrupt public activities during Ramadhan.

Therefore, the public is urged to adjust their travel routes if traffic diversions occur on certain roads.

Meanwhile, protest participants are also asked to conduct their protests peacefully and orderly, and to uphold norms, ethics, and values of tolerance during Ramadan.

“Please express your opinions peacefully and orderly. We will serve and oversee all activities, both demonstrations and community activities, to proceed safely and conducively,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi, concluding his statement. (Bembo)
