Polda Metro Jaya Launches SIKAP App, Blocking Online Fraudsters’ Accounts in Just 15 Minutes

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Polda Metro Jaya has launched a new digital service called SIBER UNGKAP (SIKAP) – Anti-Scam Center. This digital service is an online reporting system that can expedite the blocking of online fraudsters’ accounts in just 15 minutes.

The SIKAP application can be accessed through the official website metrojaya.id. Fraud victims can report the incident directly without having to visit the police station. Once the report is verified, the Polda Metro Jaya cyber team will immediately coordinate with the bank to block the perpetrator’s account in real time.

Kabid Humas of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Budhi Hermanto, explained, that this system is designed to reduce the lengthy processing time.

“Usually, the account blocking process can take up to 12 business days. Now, with this system, the perpetrator’s account can be blocked within just 15 minutes after the report is valid,” he said in a statement on Saturday, (1/11).

Kombes Pol Budhi explained, that this application was created through a collaboration between the Polda Metro Jaya, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), and banking institutions, under the assistance of Integrated Scam Control (ISC).

In addition to speeding up the blocking process, the SIKAP application, equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, is also capable of detecting fake reports and doctored documents.

“We also found fake reports created using AI-generated images. Therefore, we equipped this system with automatic verification to ensure that the reports are truly from victims,” explained Kombes Pol Budhi.

He added, that personnel from then Polda Metro Jaya Cyber Investigation Directorate are on duty 24 hours to monitor every incoming report.

“Our team is on standby. As soon as a report comes in and the transaction evidence is valid, we immediately process it. We want to ensure that victims can be helped as quickly as possible,” he added.

The SIKAP application is part of the Polda Metro Jaya effort to provide faster, more humane, and information technology-based police services.

This application’s performance is not only about prosecuting cybercriminals, but also about protecting the public from becoming victims of online fraud.

“We can’t completely prevent online crime from occurring. But we can prevent new victims and reduce the losses experienced by the public,” he added.

He also stated, that this application is a concrete manifestation of the implementation of Polri Precision. The Polri always adapts to technological developments and the needs of society in the digital world.

“We want the digital space to be a safe place. The public doesn’t need to be afraid to report. Simply go to metrojaya.id, fill out a report, and we will handle it,” he emphasized. (Bembo)
