progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA — Effective narratives and public communication are the focus of the Public Relations Division of the Polda Metro Jaya, under the command of the Head of Public Relations, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto. This in-depth discussion was also discussed by the entire Polda Metro Jaya Public Relations team at the 2025 Technical Working Meeting (Rakernis) entitled “Digitalization of Public Relations Towards a Precision Polri Force in the Rapid Information Era.”
In his opening remarks, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, stated, that as adaptive members of the Polri Public Relations team, it is imperative to understand that digital transformation is no longer an option. It has become an absolute necessity, a concept that must be fully understood and mastered.
“Now is the time when information moves in seconds. Therefore, the Polri public relations personnel must also be agile and adaptive to ensure accurate and engaging messages are conveyed quickly and effectively,” emphasized the three-jasmine Scorpio officer from the Sanika Satyawada Battalion, Akpol 2000.
Furthermore, he also reminded us that the function of public relations has shifted significantly to the front, not the back. It’s no longer just a standard, textbook mouthpiece. Sorry. Now is the time for the Polri’s public relations team to develop and improve their skills to become intelligent storytellers. Okay!
“Today’s public relations team must have developed and developed the skills to become storytellers. They must become storytellers or storytellers who can convey a story in an engaging way. This can be implemented if their vocabulary has been proven to be strong. This is because they are guaranteed to have mastered communication, intonation, and word selection to construct sentences, or the ability to choose the right words when constructing sentences. All of this can be learned, understood, and mastered as long as public relations personnel continue to learn and broaden their horizons as a foundation for mastering these skills,” explained Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto.
Deviating slightly from the narrative structure above, the Polda Metro Jaya Public Relations Working Meeting (Rakernis) also appeared to be improvising with a small innovation at the event, symbolizing the Polri’s commitment to strengthening public communication in the digital arena. This symbol also resonated with the chords of Kapolri, Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo’s priority program toward achieving “Golden Indonesia 2045.”
Now, returning to the explanation of the improvisation and small innovation mentioned above, the purpose of this improvisation was the presence of young guns as creative and professional speakers in the digital media field at this event.
The young guns were Bimo Putro (Bang Imo), a visionary young YouTuber who also serves as a digital journalist for the Polda Metro Jaya,Wahyu Widodo, a media practitioner, and Teguh, a visual storytelling expert.
Their presence at this event could also be interpreted as a figurative visualization of the sample qualified storytellers mentioned earlier by the Head of Public Relations, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto.
It was very clear to see how these three young guns tried to be as engaging as possible when telling their stories and sharing their experiences with the participants of the Public Relations Working Meeting. They also discussed how to build creative narratives, cinematography techniques for YouTube content, and how to build strong visual communication and build an institution’s image.
Chasing Targets and Being Visionary

In particular, the presence of Bang Imo, also known as Imo, at the Polda Metro Jaya Public Relations Working Meeting drew the attention of senior Polri journalist Rio Bembo Setiawan, more familiarly known as Bembo. He also described Imo’s presence at this formal working meeting as a phenomenal surprise.
“I know Imo well. He’s my younger brother and my junior in the journalism field. And when it comes to his capacity and capabilities as a digital journalist, to be honest, i don’t think many of my colleagues at the Polda Metro Jaya know or understand him. But it’s worth it because he’s calm and doesn’t like to show off. He also seems to be reserved in his speaking. But to me, he’s different,” Bembo said giving his opinion.
Bembo explained that, as a young man who chose digital media journalism as his profession, Imo’s progress in building and developing his career, insights, and skills has been excellent. He has many dreams, but they’re kept under wraps, adapting to the current situation.
“Imo is truly visionary and possesses excellent integrity. He’s also never shy away from learning to improve his skills. Why do i say this? Because i’m one of his targets for questions and learning. So, i guide him,” Bembo said.
“Honestly, he has a goal he’s working towards in the near future. And as a young journalist, whom i’ve trained and guided to become a down-to-earth fighter, this goal is fardhu ain, or obligatory, to achieve, even through stealth. I continue to give him guidance on the steps he needs to take. I’ve also promised him that if he needs to meet and communicate openly and visionarily with the Polri leadership he’s chosen, i simply ask him to let me know so i can support and strengthen the communication process,” he added.
