Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri, explaining about the student named Fadel Nazril, who committed the bombing at SMAN 72 in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri, stated in his statement that Fadel Nazril, the student who committed the bombing at SMAN 72, was known to be a very introverted person. He found it difficult to socialize and was interested in violent content.

“The student involved in this bombing case is known to be a very introverted person. He has difficulty socializing, but he’s attracted to violent content and extreme things,” said Kapolda Kang Asep “Sniper” during a press conference at the Polda Metro Jaya Headquarters on Tuesday, (11/11) yesterday.

The Director of Criminal Investigation at the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin, also added, that the student perpetrator, Nazril, felt alone and had no place to express his concerns, whether within his family or school. This situation triggered the student to make mistakes and act recklessly.

“The driving force was that he felt alone. He also felt he had no one to share his concerns with. Both within the family and at school,” explained Kombes Pol Iman.

Spokesperson for the Polri’s Densus 88 Anti-Terror Squad, AKBP Mayndra Eka Wardhana, also weighed in. In his analysis, the student perpetrator felt alone and harbored a grudge against the way people treated him. This grudge had been harbored in his heart since early 2025.

“From the beginning of the year, he began searching. He felt oppressed, lonely, and didn’t know who to talk to. Ultimately, he developed a motivation to vengeance against some of the treatment he received,” he said.

Finally, he continued, he researched how people die and other violent content. He also joined a group about violence.

“This ultimately inspired him to join a community on social media that glorified violence. His motivation grew when several perpetrators committed violent acts and then uploaded them to social media.” The post was greatly appreciated and considered heroic,” explained AKBP Mayndra.

More specifically, the person concerned apparently also took inspiration from perpetrators of shootings abroad. Even more crazily, the person rewrote the names of six perpetrators of shootings abroad on the toy gun he carried during the bombings.

The six names he wrote were Eric Harris, Dylan Klebold, Dylan Storm Roof, Alexandre Bissonnette, Vladislav Roslyakov, and Brenton Tarrant.

Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were the perpetrators of the Columbine High School Massacre on April 20, 1999. Both were neo-Nazis.

Furthermore, Dylan Storm Roof was the perpetrator of the Charleston Church mass shooting in June 2015. He was known to be a white supremacist.

Next, there was Alexandre Bissonnette, a white supremacist. He was the perpetrator of the mass shooting at a Canadian mosque in 2015. 2017.

Then there’s Vladislav Roslyakov, the perpetrator of the 2018 attack on the Kerch Polytechnic in Russia, who is known to be a neo-Nazi.

Finally, there’s Brenton Tarrant. He was the perpetrator of the 2019 Christchurch Mosque shooting in New Zealand. He is known to adhere to ethnonationalist views. (Bembo)
