The Polda Metro Jaya Ditlantas has deployed 800 joint personnel to secure the Car-Free Night event

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) has prepared a traffic engineering scheme to anticipate congestion caused by the Car-Free Night program implemented by the Jakarta Provincial Government on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025.
The Sudirman-Thamrin area will be prohibited during Car-Free Night. The closure of this area will automatically restrict all vehicle traffic heading towards Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin.
The closure will be in effect from the evening of Wednesday, December 31, 2025, to the early morning of Thursday, January 1, 2026.
Head of Operations for the Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate, Kompol Robby Hefados told the media at Ragunan Zoo on Saturday, December 27, 2025, that the Sudirman-Thamrin area will be closed from 6:00 PM WIB on December 31st to 2:00 AM WIB on January 1st, 2026.
Kompol Robby also explained, that the traffic closure will begin at the Horse Statue area and continue through the Senayan Roundabout. Along this route, the Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared eight entertainment stages to accompany the public in celebrating the New Year’s Eve from 2025 to 2026.
“The Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate has received the activity plan from the Jakarta Provincial Government for the New Year’s Eve celebrations. There will be eight stages spread from the Horse Statue Roundabout to the Senayan Roundabout to accompany the public in celebrating New Year’s Eve,” Kompol Robby explained.
“There will also be 800 joint personnel from the Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate and the Resort Police Traffic Unit on standby to provide security. They will be deployed along the entire route of the event,” he added.
He also stated, that for Operation Candlelight 2025, the Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate and the Regional Traffic Unit will deploy 1.500 joint personnel. Of that number, 800 personnel will be on standby to focus specifically on providing security for the New Year’s Eve celebrations. (Bembo)
