Demonstrating Humanistic Empathy, Kapolda Metro Donates Food Packages to Flood Victims in Muara Gembong

BEKASI — Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri demonstrated humanistic empathy for residents affected by the floods in Bagedor Hamlet, Pantai Harapan Jaya Village, Muara Gembong District, Bekasi Regency, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ donated food packages to the victims to alleviate their suffering.
While walking through residential areas, Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ directly distributed aid to every resident he encountered on the streets. There was no visible distance in this direct, humane interaction. Very heartwarming, Jenderal.
“We want to ensure that the community continues to feel the presence of the state, especially during the difficult conditions caused by the floods. This assistance is expected to ease the burden on residents,” said Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ on the sidelines of the event.
In addition to distributing basic food supplies, the Kapolda Metro Jaya also inspected a shrimp pond in Muara Gembong. This shrimp pond is part of the raw material supply chain ecosystem for the Polda Metro Jaya Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG). The inspection was conducted to ensure food availability remained maintained despite the flooding in the area.
Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ stated, that although the flooding had affected community activities and the fisheries sector, the pond managers and workers had taken precautionary measures, including installing nets to prevent fish and shrimp from escaping.
This precautionary measure was taken to ensure the shrimp harvest was not disrupted. Furthermore, the harvest was scheduled to be used as food supplies for the Polda Metro Jaya SPPG, which is also part of the food security program. (Bembo)
