Two Teenagers Caught Carrying Sharp Weapons, Immediately Taken to East Jakarta Metro Polres Station

Two teenagers caught red-handed concealing sharp weapons suspected of being used for a brawl were taken to the East Jakarta Metro Polres for further questioning.
progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – A joint patrol by the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) of the Jakarta Metro Police and the Pioneer Unit of the East Jakarta Metro Polres arrested two teenagers caught carrying sharp weapons on Jalan Kayu Manis, Matraman, East Jakarta, early Saturday, February 7, 2026. The joint patrol, aimed at creating a conducive situation early this morning, targeted the Kayu Manis area, as it is a hotspot for brawls.
As they entered the area, the joint patrol encountered a group of teenagers hanging out in a residential area. Suspecting the group of teenagers were planning a brawl, the joint patrol approached to conduct an investigation.
The suspicions were confirmed. During the inspection, the two teenagers were caught red-handed concealing sharp weapons for no apparent reason. Without further ado, the two were taken to the East Jakarta Metro Police Station for further questioning.
The Head of Public Relations for the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto explained in his statement, that the joint patrols conducted by the Polda Metro Jaya Mobile Brigade (Brimob) and the police precincts are routine activities to provide a sense of security to the public, especially during critical times. This tactical measure is also considered effective in preventing potential disturbances to public order and security in densely populated residential areas.
Separately, the Commander of the Polda Metro Jaya Mobile Brigade (Brimob), Kombes Pol Henik Maryanto stated, that joint patrols will continue to be intensified, especially targeting areas prone to brawls and street crime.
“Joint patrols are a preventative measure to prevent brawls and street crime. We will continue to increase personnel presence in vulnerable areas to provide a sense of security to the public,” said Kombes Pol Henik.
He also reminded the public to immediately report suspicious activity through the 110 emergency service so that prompt and thorough follow-up can be carried out. (Bembo)
