Bareskrim Polri Searches House on Jalan Tampomas, Surabaya, Kilograms of Gold Bars Found

A house on Jalan Tampomas in Surabaya was searched by the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) in connection with alleged money laundering from the management of an illegal gold mine in Pontianak.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – A house on Jalan Tampomas, Surabaya, East Java, was searched by the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) Headquarters in connection with alleged money laundering from an illegal gold mine in Pontianak. The search yielded several pieces of evidence, including gold bars.

The search was conducted on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at noon and concluded at 8:00 PM WIB. Four containers were deployed to transport all the evidence recovered.

The Director of Special Economic Crimes at the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigjen Pol Ade Safri Simanjuntak stated in an official statement that, the investigation team at the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency found several pieces of evidence related to alleged money laundering from illegal gold mining.

This search is a follow-up to a previous case handled in Pontianak. This was then linked to the PPATK analysis report received by the investigative team from the Directorate of Special Economic Crimes at the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency.

“During the investigation from morning to evening, investigators have confiscated several pieces of evidence, including letters, documents, money, electronic evidence, and several other items related to the alleged crime,” said Brigjen Pol Ade on Friday, February 20, 2026.

However, he didn’t specify the exact amount of gold confiscated. He only said that in terms of quantity, several kilograms of gold were seized.

“(The kilos) are more than that. What is clear is that we have confiscated evidence related to the alleged crime, including letters, documents, electronic evidence, money, and other items related to the alleged crime, including gold bullion,” he added.

Regarding the number of witnesses, Brigjen Pol Ade Safri also stated, that the number could increase based on the results of the investigation. Currently, the number of witnesses in this case is 37.

The former Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Polda Metro Jaya also emphasized the guarantee that the investigation into the case in question will be conducted professionally, transparently, and accountably. This includes the possibility that witnesses will be named as suspects in this case.
