progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – A compassionate humanitarian action was demonstrated by personnel from the Directorate of Water and Air Police (Ditpolairud) of the Polda Metro Jakarta. While on duty at Kali Adem Pier, Muara Angke, North Jakarta, on Saturday, April 11, 2026, a passenger with special needs was seen being assisted during the ferry crossing. The wheelchair was pushed by the passenger to facilitate the smooth boarding and disembarkation process.

The Director of the Water and Air Police (Dirpolairud) Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Mustofa stated in a statement, that the action taken by his personnel was a clear demonstration of the role of the Polri in its presence in the community. They not only provide security and guarding at the pier but also provide responsive, direct assistance to the community, especially the elderly and people with disabilities, to ensure a comfortable journey to and from the Thousand Islands.

In addition to assisting passenger mobility, Ditpolairud personnel also intensively provide safety reminders, encouraging passengers to always wear life jackets and to refrain from smoking on board.

Coordination is also carried out with the captain to ensure safety is always prioritized, even when the ship is sailing in stormy weather.
