Welcoming May Day 2026, the Polda Metro’s Ditreskrimsus Holds a Labor Desk Dialogue with Labor Unions

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – To celebrate May Day 2026, the Polda Metro Jaya’s Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) held a Labor Desk Dialogue with labor unions. The event took place at the BPMJ Building on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri who also attended the dialogue, stated, that this dialogue provided a forum to directly hear various issues faced by workers. He also assessed that the relationship between the Polda Metro Jaya and workers has been well-established and is expected to strengthen in the future.

“We are holding this dialogue to directly hear the aspirations of workers. This already good relationship must continue to be maintained and strengthened. Labor issues are a shared responsibility that must be resolved collectively by all relevant parties,” said Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’.

He also conveyed, that the current global developments need to be a shared concern, as well as monitoring the dynamics of the local workforce. This must be continuously monitored and jointly anticipated for any potential negative outcomes.

Meanwhile, in a national context, the Kapolda also stated, that the government is committed to continuously improving workers’ welfare. He emphasized that the police, acting as facilitators and mediators, will continue to maintain conducive industrial relations between workers and employers.

“We are ready to act as facilitators and mediators so that relations between workers and employers remain sound, conducive, and mutually supportive,” he said.

The Kapolda also hoped, that this dialogue would yield constructive and equitable solutions, while also creating a safe, healthy, and harmonious work environment. He also emphasized the importance of fostering friendships and strengthening cooperation between workers, employers, and other relevant parties to create better conditions for workers. The Polda Metro Jaya will be ready to assist workers with any problems they encounter.

In addition to the Kapolda Metro, the dialogue was also attended by the Wakapolda of Metro Jaya, Brigjen Pol Dekananto Eko Purwono, the General Chair of the Confederation of All Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPSI), Moh. Jumhur Hidayat, representatives of the Director of Certain Crimes (Dirtipidter) Bareskrim Polri, senior officials of the Polda Metro Jaya, the Kapolres’s ranks, and representatives from ministries, business associations, and various labor organizations.
