progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya has deployed 3.545 personnel to support demonstrations commemorating National Education Day (Hardiknas) 2026. The demonstrations are scheduled to take place at several locations in Jakarta today, Monday, May 4, 2026.
In a statement, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, explained, that the personnel were deployed to several locations. The locations of interest are the National Monument (Monas), the House of Representatives (DPR/MPR) Building, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisintek).
“The Polda Metro Jaya has deployed 3.545 service personnel. This number consists of 3.351 personnel from the Polda Metro Jaya Jakarta Metropolitan Police, 176 personnel from the District Police (Polres), and 18 personnel from the Kayan and Padal. Furthermore, this activity is also supported by 250 personnel from the Public Order and Security (Kamtibmas) Belt,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi on Monday, May 4, 2026.
“They are stationed at several locations to ensure that the expression of opinion runs safely, orderly, smoothly, and conducively,” he added.
Kombes Pol Bhudi further stated, that the deployed personnel will prioritize a humanistic and persuasive approach to serving the protesters. Personnel are also prepared to regulate traffic, guard objects, provide warnings, and anticipate potential disturbances to public order and security.
“We emphasize to all personnel to act persuasively and humanely. The presence of the Polri ensures that the public can express their aspirations safely, without disrupting public order,” he explained.
Technically, the Polda Metro Jaya has also prepared a traffic flow management scenario around the demonstration location. Traffic engineering will be implemented situationally based on the development of the crowd on the ground.
Therefore, road users are asked to pay attention to traffic conditions and adjust their travel schedules, especially around the Monas, the Horse Statue, Jalan Medan Merdeka, the DPR/MPR RI, Gatot Subroto, and the areas around the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and the Ministry of Education and Science and Technology.
Motorists are also urged to follow the directions of officers on the ground. Kombes Pol Bhudi stated, that traffic officers will assist in easing congestion if there is increased crowd activity.
“Please follow the officers’ directions. Traffic engineering is situational, adapting to the dynamics on the ground,” he said.
Regarding the protesters, Kombes Pol Bhudi also reminded them to express their opinions in an orderly and peaceful manner. They are also asked not to carry dangerous objects and not to be easily provoked.
Expressing opinions in public is a citizen’s right protected by law. However, Kombes Pol Bhudi continued, the implementation must still prioritize the safety, order, and comfort of the public.
“Essentially, the Polda Metro Jaya is here to serve. We hope that the Hardiknas 2026 celebrations will proceed safely and orderly, and that aspirations will be conveyed effectively,” he concluded.
