And if you discover any form of fraud or become a victim of fraud or various forms of football gambling, they are reminded to immediately report it to the police through the 24-hour complaint service 110.

“The public can use the 110 hotline to report any indications of fraud and football gambling,” said Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) of the Polri Public Relations Division, at the TVRI Building, Jakarta, Thursday, May 7, 2026.

He explained, that the Polri is also open to establishing a dedicated complaint channel integrated with TVRI to anticipate various issues during the nobar (group viewing) event.

“In the future, it will be possible to establish a joint hotline with TVRI regarding the implementation of public viewings, considering that all organizers have registered, allowing for more optimal oversight,” said Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo.

In addition to the potential for fraud, he continued, the Polri also reminded the public not to engage in various soccer gambling activities, which are suspected to increase during this major football event. Moreover, this practice is also considered to have the potential to trigger other crimes that harm the community.

“Soccer gambling, in any form, must be anticipated together. We must not allow this momentum to be exploited for illegal activities that could cause losses,” stressed Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo.

Instead, he encouraged the public to enjoy the excitement of the 2026 World Cup by upholding sportsmanship and maintaining a conducive public order and security situation.

“Support your favorite team with positive enthusiasm. Don’t let excessive fanaticism disrupt public order and security,” he said.

For your information, the 2026 World Cup will be held in three host countries, Canada, Mexico, and the United States. TVRI, as the official broadcasting rights holder in Indonesia, plans to hold a public viewing on 34 regional stations.
