Polres Metro of Tangerang City report successfully solving 56 street crimes in the past month.

progresifjaya.co.id, TANGERANG CITY – The Polres Metro of Tangerang City successfully cracked down on 52 street crimes over the past month.

In these raids, 36 criminals were apprehended, along with a variety of evidence, ranging from stolen vehicles to homemade firearms.

The detailed account of the 56 cases was delivered directly by the Kapolres Metro of Tangerang City, Kombes Pol Raden Muhammad Jauhari. Also present were the Head of Criminal Investigation, AKBP Parikhesit, and the Acting Head of Public Relations, AKP Iwan Heristiawan.  Kapolres R.M. Jauhari recounted this story in the Main Lobby of the Polres Metro of Tangerang City Department on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

In his account, Kapolres R.M. Jauhari stated, that the 52 crimes he raided were dominated by motor vehicle theft.

“We successfully cracked down on a total of 44 motorcycle thefts. The rest were two thefts with violence, three aggravated thefts, two thefts, and one mob attack,” said Kapolres R.M. Jauhari.

He continued, explaining that the 36 criminals arrested were assigned various roles. Some acted as the main perpetrators, others as jockeys, and still others as receivers.

As for the proceeds of the crimes, evidence seized included four four-wheeled vehicles, 26 motorcycle vehicles, homemade firearms and ammunition, sharp weapons, dozens of T-shaped wrenches, cell phones, vehicle registration documents, and even stun guns.

He also revealed, that of the 56 crimes he was able to solve, five stood out, requiring a level of recklessness and a lack of willpower. These cases included a group of armed motor vehicle thieves in the Jatiuwung area, an ATM theft syndicate in Ciledug, a theft involving sharp weapons in Karang Tengah, a car window-breaking gang in the Cipondoh and Serpong areas, and a mob attack involving two foreign nationals on the Jakarta-Tangerang toll road.

In the armed motor vehicle theft case, four criminals were apprehended, along with evidence of homemade firearms and ammunition. Of the four arrested, two were known to have been involved in motor vehicle thefts at dozens of crime scenes in the Bandar Lampung area.

The ATM theft case also involved four criminals who were apprehended while attempting to commit the crime. The criminals attempted to use plastic to jam the victim’s ATM card before stealing the card and PIN.

Regarding the 52 crime cases in Tangerang City that were successfully solved in the past month, Kapolres R.M. Jauhari stated, that his department will continue to increase patrols and take action against various forms of street crime. He continued, the Polres Metro of Tangerang City are fully committed to maintaining security and maintaining public order within their jurisdiction.
