Go With the Flow, Polres of Pangandaran Traffic Unit Cultivates 3S Tradition to Serve and Satisfy the Public

The Polres of Pangandaran Police Traffic Unit’s humane and precise service model for the public in the Satpas and Samsat service lines.
progresifjaya.co.id, PANGANDARAN – The Polres of Pangandaran Traffic Unit has cultivated the 3S tradition (smile, greet, and greet) to improve excellent service to SIM applicants at the Driver’s License Administration Unit (Satpas) and to taxpayers at the One-Stop Administration System (Samsat).
This precise, humane, and educational service also serves as a means of demonstrating the Polres of Pangandaran Traffic Unit’s commitment to ensuring SIM applicants and taxpayers feel comfortable and satisfied. The slang term for this is beyond satisfied or satisfaction with results that exceed expectations.
The Head of Registration and Identification Unit (Regident)
of the Polres of Pangandaran Traffic Unit, Ipda M. Harry Santoso, explained in a statement, that the Polres of Pangandaran Traffic Unit is fully committed to providing excellent, humane, and educational service to the public. Despite the limitations in supporting facilities, this is no reason to abandon the principle of precise, excellent service.
“Officers are required to always smile, greet, and greet the public to create a comfortable atmosphere. Furthermore, officers also provide direct guidance and education to driver’s license applicants and taxpayers,” said Ipda M. Harry.
Technically, the Polres of Pangandaran Traffic Unit is the youngest of 23 Traffic Units within the Polda of West Java. This follows Pangandaran Regency’s history as the youngest autonomous region, established from Ciamis Regency, as stipulated in Law Number 21 of 2012.
Because it is the youngest unit, various supporting facilities for its duties have been gradually completed. This includes the Polres and Traffic Unit buildings, which were only granted ownership in early January 2025.
“Yes, that’s the dynamic of our assignment as police officers at the Polres of Pangandaran. But all of this motivates us to work even better in serving the public, especially in the identification registration sector for Polres of Pangandaran Traffic Unit,” said the officer, who previously served as
Head of the Turjawali Unit of the Polres of Subang Traffic Unit and Head of the Kamsel Unit of the Polres of Subang Traffic Unit.
He also explained, that interactive, educational communication with the public is the primary working motto of the Polres of Pangandaran Traffic Unit. Moreover, the Polres of Pangandaran community is characterized by a strong and short-tempered nature, as the majority are fishermen accustomed to braving the waves.
“We work here with a psychological focus on adapting. We go with the flow, as they say. So we easily enter the community and provide understanding to the Pangandaran community, whether it’s about security, order, and traffic, or about driver’s license (SIM) and motor vehicle administration procedures,” explained Ipda M. Harry.
And most importantly, he added, public satisfaction remains the benchmark for successful service delivery. If the public is satisfied, it means that the Pangandaran community’s trust in the Polri can be maintained.
“And so, our next task is to increase public trust in the Polri. We must be as perfect as possible in transforming ourselves into the Precision Traffic Police for the people of Pangandaran. Please pray for our success,” said Ipda M. Harry again asking for support.
