progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya Mobile Detective (Resmob) Sub-Directorate of the General Crimes Directorate has arrested a woman suspected of stealing a phone left at a photo box in the Cempaka Putih area, Central Jakarta. The arrested thief, identified as YH, is 30 years old.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto explained in a statement, that YH was arrested in the Leuwiliang area, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Monday, May 19, 2026, at 1:45 a.m. WIB. The thief was apprehended thanks to a video that went viral showing two women allegedly stealing a phone left at a photo box.

 “One suspect was successfully arrested by the Sub-Directorate of Resmob of the Polda Metro Jaya’s Criminal Investigation Directorate after being identified from screenshots of a video that went viral on social media. Another has also been identified and is still being pursued,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi, Thursday, May 21, 2026.

For your information, in the video circulating on social media, two women, a mother and daughter, are seen inside a photo booth. They then found the cell phone at the location. The incident occurred on Monday, May 11, 2026, at a mall in the Cempaka Putih area, Central Jakarta.

“Oh, there’s someone else’s cell phone, bro,” said suspect 1.

“I don’t want it to go viral,” replied suspect 2.

“There’s the Z Fold again, sis,” said suspect 1 again.

“Well, where have you put it? It’s not safe,” replied suspect 2.

“We found it, right?” said suspect 1 again.

Ridiculously, the two women apparently didn’t report the discovery of the lost cell phone.  Instead, they chose to flee, taking the cell phone they found in the photo booth.
