In a statement, the Director of Special Crimes at the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Victor Dean Mackbon stated, that the inspections were conducted to ensure that all stages of sacrificial animal preparation at Dharma Jaya were carried out according to regulations. The inspections included the animals’ health, the cleanliness of the shelter, the preparation process, and their readiness for distribution ahead of Eid al-Adha.

“This is part of our responsibility in preparation for Eid al-Adha. We directly monitored the preparation process through to distribution, including aspects of the cleanliness and health of the sacrificial animals,” he said.

He also explained that, based on preliminary inspection results, the cattle at Dharma Jaya are still in good condition and no signs of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) or Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) have been found. However, supervision is still being carried out in conjunction with the Jakarta Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Agency (KPKP) to ensure that all stages of preparation and distribution of the sacrificial animals run safely until Eid al-Adha.

“Based on preliminary inspection results, the cattle at Dharma Jaya are in good condition. However, we are continuing to monitor the situation with relevant agencies, covering aspects of health and hygiene, as well as the distribution process, to ensure that the Eid al-Adha celebrations run safely and smoothly, and that the public receives suitable sacrificial animals,” said Kombes Pol Victor Dean Mackbon.

The Head of the Jakarta Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Agency (KPKP), Dr. drh. Hasudungan A. Sidabalok, who participated in the inspection, expressed his appreciation for the Polda Metro Jaya efforts to oversee the readiness of sacrificial animals ahead of Eid al-Adha. He stated, that cross-agency collaboration is crucial to ensure that sacrificial animals circulating in Jakarta are healthy and suitable.

“We appreciate the support of the Polda Metro Jaya in this supervision. Inspection of sacrificial animals not only concerns availability, but also health, suitability, and safety for the public who will perform the ritual,” said Hasudungan.

He also stated, that every sacrificial animal entering Jakarta must undergo document checks and clinical examinations by officers. If suspicious symptoms are found, officers will conduct further laboratory tests.

“In principle, we want to ensure that the public receives healthy, safe, and properly regulated sacrificial animals. Therefore, supervision is carried out from the time the animals arrive, through their stay at the shelter, and through the distribution process,” he concluded.
