progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The meeting between Chatib Basri and Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and President Prabowo Subianto has received clarification from Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) and Daily Chair of the Gerindra Party. He stated that the meeting focused entirely on the current economic conditions. Chatib Basri attended the meeting as a member of the National Economic Council (DEN). Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan serves as the DEN Chair.

“Purely, the meeting was about providing input on how to increase economic growth. I’ve confirmed that there were no other discussions,” said Sufmi Dasco in a press statement at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

He also didn’t deny rumors regarding the replacement of the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) involving Chatib Basri. However, he stated, that the rumors could not be verified.

“I confirmed earlier that today’s meeting was solely to receive input from the National Economic Council, chaired by Mr. Luhut and with Mr. Chatib Basri as its member. Nothing else,” he emphasized.

DEN, said Sufmi Dasco, provided President Prabowo with input on economic growth strategies during today’s meeting. This input is invaluable to President Prabowo as ammunition to drive Indonesia’s economic growth going forward.
