progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The wave of demonstrations that took place on Friday afternoon, June 12, 2026, prompted the Polda Metro Jaya to implement a number of traffic restrictions. Regarding these measures, the Polda Metro Jaya apologized to the public affected by the restrictions.

This apology was made by the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto.

“Regarding the traffic diversions and closures, we apologize to all the people affected by the traffic situation,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi to reporters on Friday, June 12, 2026.

He stated, that the traffic restrictions were actually implemented situationally. Coincidentally, security conditions on the ground required the restrictions.

“Because this had to be implemented situationally to protect the protesters and students,” he said.

In his explanation, Kombes Pol Bhudi stated, that the demonstrations took place at several locations. However, the demonstrations proceeded safely and orderly.

He also expressed his appreciation to the students who held the demonstration peacefully. He also commended the police officers who maintained humane security.

“We hope that moments like this, when aspirations and opinions are expressed in public, can proceed peacefully. The aspirations are conveyed well, and the security personnel are also in good condition,” he explained.
