progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Dewa United FC’s new coach, Osmar Loss, expressed optimism that he can lead Banten Warriors to high achievements in the 2026/2027 Liga 1 season.
The tactician, born in Passo Fundo, Brazil, on July 3, 1975, is also very confident that Banten Warriors will make a big difference at the top of what is projected to be a tough competition.
As reported by Ileague.id on Thursday, July 30, 2026, Osmar Loss immediately adapted to the club’s environment and prepared the team for the predicted fierce competition upon his arrival in Indonesia.
“I am very happy and have very high expectations for this season. This is a new country and a new competition for me. We must quickly understand how everything works here to take important steps in taking this club to greater heights,” he explained.
Although this is his first time coaching in Indonesia, Osmar, who has experience coaching in the Brazilian football leagues (Série A and Série B), the Iranian League (Persian Gulf Pro League), and the Thai League 1, still doesn’t want to rush to conclusions about the quality of the competition based solely on the opinions of others. He prefers to form his own assessment after experiencing the competitive atmosphere on the field firsthand.
However, based on various initial discussions he has had, Osmar believes this season’s Liga 1 competition will be highly competitive. He believes there are at least 10 teams with a chance to compete for the title.
“When you hear other people’s perspectives, that’s their perspective. I want to form my own perspective on this league and competition,” he said.
He added that the start of the season will be a crucial phase for Dewa United FC to collect as many points as possible. With a positive result in the first half, the Banten Warriors are expected to be in a stronger position to compete for trophies in the second half of the season.
“From discussions I’ve had with several people here, the league is very competitive. We’re starting the league with at least 10 teams with a chance to win the title,” he said.
Osmar emphasized that his team must capitalize on the first round of the season by putting in a good performance and accumulating as many points as possible. That way, in the second round, the Banten Warriors will be in a strong position to compete for big things.
Ahead of the new season, Osmar also admitted that he has prepared an ideal squad composition. He plans to form a team of 28 players, consisting of 24 outfield players and four goalkeepers. However, he will also remain open to young talent from the Dewa United academy.
“Of course, we will provide space for players from the academy to join in some training sessions. If they show enough quality, they can stay, and we can increase the squad to 30 players,” he concluded.
