progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polri, through its Logistics Division (Slog), continues to bolster support for handling forest and land fires (karhutla) in various regions by preparing logistical aid, firefighting equipment, and oxygen cylinders for personnel and affected communities.

As an initial phase, aid shipments for West Kalimantan began dispatch preparations on Monday, August 24, 2026. The aid package includes six sets of platoon-sized tents, 200 cartons of field rations (MTP), forest firefighting hoses (1,5-inch and 2,5-inch sizes), spray gun nozzles, standard nozzles, Y-connectors, and both large and small oxygen cylinders.

The aid is scheduled to depart from Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 06:30 WIB via aircraft to meet the needs of personnel on the ground managing the fires.

In addition, the Polri has prepared logistical support and oxygen cylinders for other regions affected by forest and land fires. A total of 1.500 oxygen cylinders have been prepared for distribution, allocated as follows 200 cylinders for West Kalimantan, 250 for Central Kalimantan, 200 for South Kalimantan, 200 for South Sumatra, 250 for Riau, and 150 for Jambi.

Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Head of the Public Information Bureau of the Polri Public Relations Division stated, that the aid delivery would be carried out in stages, taking into account specific needs and transport readiness for each affected region. 

“In the initial phase, the aid being dispatched is intended to support efforts to tackle forest and land fires in West Kalimantan. Meanwhile, we are continuing to prepare aid for other regions; this will be sent as soon as possible in stages, depending on transport availability and operational needs on the ground,” said Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo on Monday, August 24, 2026.

The aid is aimed not only at supporting personnel engaged in firefighting operations but also at assisting affected communities—particularly those suffering from respiratory issues due to exposure to smoke from the fires.

“This logistical support is part of the Polri’s efforts to ensure personnel have adequate equipment for firefighting operations, while simultaneously providing support to communities in the affected areas,” he stated.

Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo added, that the Polri would continue to monitor the situation regarding forest and land fires across various regions, ensuring that both personnel and logistical support can be deployed rapidly to meet operational needs. In carrying out these efforts, the Polri will continue to collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to accelerate the response to the fires and safeguard the safety of both personnel and the public.
