Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo at the 53rd Anniversary celebration of the Textile, Apparel, and Leather Workers Union Federation (FSP TSK) KSPSI AGN at PT Pratama Abadi Industri, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

progresifjaya.co.id, SUKABUMI REGENCY – Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated, that the revision of the Manpower Law (the Manpower Bill) must strengthen protections while simultaneously improving worker welfare. He also noted that the revision of the Manpower Law is part of the workers’ ongoing struggle.

“Worker protection and welfare need to be strengthened through fair manpower regulations,” said the Kapolri at the peak event celebrating the 53rd anniversary of the Textile, Clothing, and Leather Workers Union Federation (FSP TSK) of KSPSI AGN at PT Pratama Abadi Industri, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, on Monday, September 14, 2026.

He stated, that drafting fair manpower regulations is a crucial step in addressing the various issues workers face amidst the changing business landscape.

“A key area of focus is the drafting of the Manpower Bill, which is expected to accommodate nine clusters of issues,” the Kapolri said.

According to him, the revision of the Manpower Law is part of the workers’ struggle because it directly relates to the fulfillment of rights, protection, and worker welfare.

Therefore, the drafting process must be monitored so that workers’ aspirations can be fully conveyed and taken into consideration when producing regulations that align with both workers’ needs and business developments.

He also reminded the workers that they possess great, militant strength in fighting for their rights. However, that strength must be channeled through peaceful, orderly, and responsible movements.

“Workers possess great, militant strength. However, i strongly urge that all efforts in this struggle be carried out peacefully and with due regard for public order,” advised Kapolri Listyo Sigit.

Maintaining such order is essential to ensure the substance of the struggle remains focused and is not compromised by other interests.  The Kapolri doesn’t want labor protests to be exploited by certain groups in a way that obscures the primary goals being championed.

“Do not let the movement be hijacked by certain groups that could undermine the workers’ cause; ensure that the entire struggle and message are conveyed clearly and remain undistorted by unrelated issues,” he emphasized.

In addition to voicing aspirations through protests, the Kapolri encourages resolving differences through dialogue and consultation. Communication among workers, employers, and the government is essential to finding common ground that is fair to all parties.

This relationship must maintain a balance between the interests of workers and the sustainability of companies. Workers require the fulfillment of their rights and improved welfare, while companies need to continue growing to maintain existing jobs and create new employment opportunities.

He also reaffirmed the Polri’s commitment to maintaining security and assisting in the resolution of industrial relations issues. The Polri are present to protect workers, safeguard business continuity, and foster a conducive investment climate.

Therefore, all labor groups are urged to monitor the revision of the Manpower Law while maintaining public order, ensuring that the aspirations conveyed do not lose their substance or impact.

“Oversee the revision of the Manpower Law peacefully, yet continue to deliver a strong message regarding the cause of all our fellow workers,” he reiterated. (Bembo)
