progresifjaya.co.id, DEPOK – Demonstrating care and empathy for the journalist who remains missing while covering the eruption of Mount Krakatoa in the Sunda Strait region, Kapolres Metro of Depok, Kombes Pol Christian Rony Putra attended a joint prayer session for the safety of the journalist and the ship’s crew on Monday, September 14, 2026.

The event also served as a moment to offer special prayers for Yudistro Pranoto—an iNews journalist residing in Depok—along with the other journalists and crew members who are still the subject of a search operation.

The joint prayer took place at Al Wafa Mosque in the Nuansa Asri Cinangka Housing Complex, Sawangan, Depok, and began with the congregational Isha prayer. Amidst an atmosphere of solemnity and hope, the congregation prayed that all those currently being sought would receive aid and be found safe.

The presence of the Kapolres Metro of Depok served as a gesture of moral support for the families and fellow journalists who are still awaiting news regarding the safety of their loved ones.

“Let us join together in supplication and pray for their safety. May Allah SWT grant protection, safety, and ease in the search process,” said Kombes Pol Christian.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations for the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, also called on the public to offer prayers and support for all those still being sought.

“We invite the entire community to continue praying that the search process proceeds smoothly and that all our brothers and sisters who are still missing may soon be found safe,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi. (Bembo)
