Polres of Kuningan Traffic Unit Hosts Police as Students’ Friends Program at SMPN 1 Kadugede, Promoting Traffic Order and Anti-Bullying

Monday flag-raising ceremony at SMP Negeri 1 Kadugede with the Head of the Traffic Safety Unit (Kanit Kamsel) of the Polres of Kuningan Traffic Unit, Ipda Alfan Rizki Riswandi.

progresifjaya.co.id, KUNINGAN — The Polres of Kuningan Traffic Unit has once again demonstrated its commitment to nurturing the younger generation through the Police as Students’ Friends (Polisi Sahabat Pelajar) program. This initiative was carried out during a solemn Monday flag-raising ceremony held at the SMP Negeri 1 Kadugede school grounds on Monday, October 12, 2026.

Serving as the ceremony inspector was Ipda Alfan Rizki Riswandi, Head of the Traffic Safety Unit (Kanit Kamsel) of the Polres of Kuningan. He delivered an impactful address before the school principal, teaching staff, educational personnel, and hundreds of students from SMPN 1 Kadugede.

In his address, Ipda Alfan highlighted four key issues that often pose threats to the future of adolescents, the dangers of illegal street racing, involvement in motorcycle gangs, bullying, and drug abuse.

Addressing the prevalence of illegal street racing, Ipda Alfan urged students not to view it as a means to show off or satisfy a desire for prestige. He reminded them that public roads are shared facilities requiring collective responsibility and orderliness.

“Public roads are not racetracks. There are other motorists, pedestrians, and members of the public who have the right to feel safe. Riding a motorcycle at high speed without a license or safety gear is not an achievement; rather, it is an act that endangers both oneself and others,” Ipda Alfan emphasized.

He also advised students interested in automotive activities to channel their talents through official avenues and legitimate platforms, rather than engaging in reckless behavior that puts lives at risk. Touching upon the issues of motorcycle gangs and juvenile delinquency, Ipda Alfan urged students to be wise and selective about the company they keep. He emphasized that choosing a positive social environment is far more important than seeking validation through unlawful acts.

“Instilling fear in others is not a sign of courage, rather, it demonstrates an inability to respect one another. It is better to have a few friends who guide us toward success than many who lead us into trouble,” he added.

Meanwhile, regarding bullying, he stressed that physical or academic differences should never be grounds for belittling or harming others. He also called upon the school to serve as a safe and comfortable environment for all students to pursue their education.

In his closing remarks, Ipda Alfan emphasized that the Polri are not merely law enforcers but also partners in prevention and mentors for the younger generation.

He encouraged educators and parents to maintain active communication in order to cultivate a generation in Kuningan Regency that is intelligent, possesses strong character, and achieves excellence.

The flag-raising ceremony concluded with an interactive educational session, a group photo, and a commitment from all parties at SMPN 1 Kadugede to foster a school environment that is orderly, safe, and child-friendly. (Bembo)
