Officers from the Law Enforcement Unit of the Polrestabes of Bandung City Traffic Unit arrived at the scene of the accident to conduct an investigation and evacuate the victims.

progresifjaya.co.id, BANDUNG – A fatal traffic accident involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian occurred on Jalan Soekarno-Hatta—specifically in front of building number 181, in the Babakan Ciparay District, Bandung—on the night of Thursday, October 15, 2026. The incident resulted in the death of a pedestrian and left the motorcyclist with serious injuries.

AKP Fiekry Adi Perdana, Head of the Traffic Accident Investigation Unit of the Polrestabes of Bandung stated, that the accident took place at approximately 9:14 PM (WIB). The incident began when a motorcycle, traveling from west to east, struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road.

“Based on the preliminary investigation and witness statements from the scene, the motorcycle was traveling from west to east. Upon reaching the location, the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was crossing from the south toward the north,” said AKP Fiekry on Friday, October 16, 2026.

AKP Fiekry explained, that the motorcyclist was allegedly traveling at a high speed prior to the accident. However, the exact cause of the incident is still under investigation by the police.

The pedestrian, whose identity remains unknown, died as a result of the collision. The victim’s body was subsequently transported to the forensic department of Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung.

Meanwhile, the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken to RSHS Bandung for medical treatment. Police officers have visited the scene to conduct a crime scene investigation, record the details of those involved, and gather statements from witnesses.

“The case is currently being handled. We will proceed by questioning witnesses and conducting an initial case review to further investigate the accident,” added AKP Fiekry. (Bembo)
