The Traffic Unit of the Polres Kuningan conducts a “Police Goes to School” program at SMA Negeri 1 Mandirancan.

progresifjaya.co.id, KUNINGAN — Aimed at educating the younger generation while reducing traffic violations and accidents, the Traffic Unit of the Polres Kuningan (Satlantas Polres Kuningan) conducted a “Police Goes to School” program at SMA Negeri 1 Mandirancan on the morning of Friday, October 23, 2026.

The event, which began at 7:00 AM, was led by the Head of the Traffic Safety Unit (Kanit Kamsel) of the Polres Kuningan, Ipda Alfan Rizki Riswandi, representing the Head of the Polres Kuningan Traffic Unit (Kasat Lantas), AKP Aktuin Moniharapon.

During the session, officers covered essential topics regarding safe driving ethics. They emphasized the importance of obeying traffic signs, using SNI-standard (Indonesian National Standard) helmets, and ensuring vehicles are properly equipped—including having rearview mirrors and official license plates—as well as obtaining a driver’s license (SIM) for students who meet the age requirement.

Beyond road safety, the Polres Kuningan Traffic Unit also addressed the prevention of juvenile delinquency, the dangers of illegal street racing, the use of non-standard (loud/racing) exhausts, and the potential involvement of students in motorcycle gangs or brawls.

“Through the ‘Police Goes to School’ program, we strive to instill values ​​of discipline and responsibility from an early age. We urge students to steer clear of illegal street racing and the use of non-standard, loud exhausts. Not only do these actions disrupt public order, but they also pose a serious danger to the riders themselves and other road users,” said Ipda Alfan Rizki Riswandi.

On the same occasion, the Polres Kuningan Traffic Unit team coordinated with the principal and teaching staff of SMAN 1 Mandirancan. This collaboration is intended to strengthen preventive oversight regarding students’ driving activities outside of school hours.

Through this educational approach, the Traffic Unit of the Polres Kuningan hopes to foster greater legal awareness and a culture of traffic compliance among students at SMAN 1 Mandirancan. At the same time, this initiative aims to strengthen positive, humanistic ties between the Polri and the educational community. (Bembo)
