Destruction of 712,01 kg of various types of narcotics using an incinerator by the Polda Metro Jaya’s Narcotics Investigation Directorate.
progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya’s Narcotics Investigation Directorate (Ditresnarkoba) destroyed 712,01 kg of various narcotics seized from 1.833 cases handled during the first quarter of 2026.
The destruction process was led by the Director of Narcotics Investigation at the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ahmad David, at the Polda Metro Jaya headquarters on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Representatives from the prosecutor’s office, courts, Customs and Excise, the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), and several other anti-drug agencies also witnessed the destruction.
Kombes Pol Ahmad David stated, that all evidence was counted and reviewed under strict supervision before being destroyed.
“We apply the principles of transparency in the destruction. I need to explain that before this evidence is destroyed, it is recorded, recounted, and reweighed, witnessed by the Supervisory Inspectorate, the Propam Department, and investigators,” said Kombes Pol David.
“Then, another authenticity test is conducted to determine whether the evidence contains drugs, conducted by the Forensic Laboratory (Labfor), the Polri laboratory,” he added.
All evidence is destroyed using an incinerator. He explained that the incinerator is used to eliminate any residue from the combustion process.
“We use an incinerator. Its high temperature ensures that nothing remains after burning. Finally, the entire process is documented, both by video and photos,” he said.
He also stated, that the Polda Metro Jaya wants the destruction process to be carried out transparently as a form of public accountability. Furthermore, the destruction of drug evidence is part of the Polda Metro Jaya’s commitment to eradicating drug trafficking and abuse.
“We conducted this destruction as transparently as possible. Our colleagues can see that none of the evidence was embezzled, lost, or re-confiscated. Everything was destroyed and no longer circulated in the community,” he emphasized. (Bembo)
