The Jatanras Polda Metro’s and the Satreskrim Polrestro Jakpus Arrest 5 Firefighter Motorcycle Thieves, 4 DPO Being Hunted

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Sub-Directorate Violent Crimes (Jatanras) Polda Metro Jaya’s and the Central Jakarta Metropolitan Polres’s Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) responded quickly to a viral CCTV (Circuit Closed Television) video capturing a gang of robbers stealing a firefighter’s motorcycle in the Gambir area, Central Jakarta.
The five perpetrators were arrested at a guesthouse in the Pluit area of North Jakarta on the evening of Monday, April 13, 2026. The five perpetrators are identified as F (30), RS (19), TA (20), R (21), and RA (24).
Regarding this incident, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto stated, that the five perpetrators were identified thanks to an intensive investigation and analysis of CCTV footage at the scene.
“The joint team successfully identified the perpetrators. All five were detained at a hotel in the Pluit area for further investigation,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
He also explained, that in addition to the five perpetrators already apprehended, the police are also pursuing four other perpetrators who have been listed as Wanted Persons (DPO).
“We are still hunting for four other individuals who are strongly suspected of being involved in the beating and stealing the victim’s motorcycle. We have their identities,” he added.
He also explained, that preliminary investigations revealed that the perpetrators played different roles during the incident. One hit and hit the victim, took the victim’s belongings, and monitored the situation around the scene.
“Street crime cases involving violence are our primary concern. And the Polda Metro Jaya is fully committed to eradicating all forms of crime to ensure the safety of residents in the capital,” Kombes Pol Bhudi emphasized.
Therefore, he continuously urged the public to remain vigilant when traveling at night and to avoid deserted routes. If they notice any disturbances to public order and security, they should immediately report them to the 110 call center.
“We will always take firm action against street criminals who disturb the public. There is no room for criminals,” he emphasized.
For the record, the assault on a Fire Department employee with the initials BMH (29) occurred on Jalan KH Hasyim Ashari, Gambir, Central Jakarta, in the early hours of Thursday, April 2, 2026. The victim was suddenly intercepted by the perpetrators while traveling from Tomang to Harmoni.
In CCTV footage circulating on social media, the victim is seen being attacked by more than five perpetrators. The perpetrators also reportedly hit him.
He was pushed, kicked, and hit, causing him to fall. He attempted to fight back, but was outnumbered. He was then attacked and hit with a rock, causing injuries.
As a result of the incident, the victim lost his motorcycle and cell phone. The perpetrators then fled, leaving the victim helpless. (Bembo)
