Secretary General of the Central PWI, Zulmansyah Sekedang, has passed away.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Sad news for the Indonesian press world. The Secretary General of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Central , for the 2025–2030 period, Zulmansyah Sekedang, has passed away.

Zulmansyah breathed his last at Budi Kemuliaan Hospital in Central Jakarta, due to a heart attack, early Saturday morning, April 18, 2026, at 12:05 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.

This sad news was first conveyed by the Deputy Treasurer of the PWI Central, Sumber Rajasa Ginting.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. The Secretary General of the PWI Central, Zulmansyah Sekedang, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Western Indonesian Time at Budi Kemuliaan Hospital in Central Jakarta, due to a heart attack. Please forgive all his mistakes,” he said.

Before his death, the deceased was known to have been actively involved in various organizational activities. He attended a book launch and discussion in Surabaya, East Java, and participated in the declaration of the Indonesian Senior Journalists Union (SWSI) at the LSPR Institute of Communication and Business Hall in Central Jakarta.

After completing these activities, his health reportedly declined, leading to intensive care at the hospital.

According to a source, Rajasa Ginting, during his stay in Surabaya, the deceased showed no signs of health problems.

“During his time in Surabaya, the deceased shared a room with me and we talked a lot. He didn’t complain about his health at all until he returned to Jakarta,” he said.

The passing of Zulmansyah Sekedang is a great loss for the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) and all members of the press in Indonesia. His dedication and devotion are considered to have made a significant contribution to the development of Indonesian journalism. (Red)
