The Wondr Kemala Run 2026 in Bali received widespread appreciation for its proven ability to drive economic growth while also strengthening social awareness.
progresifjaya.co.id, BALI – The 2026 Wondr Kemala Run in Gianyar Regency, Bali Province, took place safely and smoothly on Sunday, April 19, 2026, garnering praise from various groups. The running event, held from Jalan Ida Bagus Mantra to Purnama Beach in Gianyar Regency, was deemed not only successful in terms of organization but also had a significant impact on the regional economy, local communities, and social and humanitarian initiatives.
The Head of the 2026 Kemala Run Race Management, Brigjen Pol Sambodo Purnomo Yogo stated in an official statement, that the entire series of events, attended by 11.000 participants, ran smoothly as planned. Tens of thousands of participants enthusiastically participated in the running in various categories, from the half marathon, 10 kilometers, to 5 kilometers.
“Alhamdulillah, today’s Kemala Run 2026 went smoothly and well, as planned. Almost all participants made it to the finish line,” said Brigjen Pol Sambodo after the event.
He said the high level of enthusiasm from the public and participants from various regions demonstrated that this event has significant appeal and is worthy of becoming an annual event.
“Given this extraordinary enthusiasm, i hope we can hold an event like this every year,” he added.
This one-star high-ranking police officer, who currently serves as Karomonev Stamarena Polri (Head of the Operational Management Bureau of the Polri Planning and Budget Staff), also emphasized, that community involvement is a primary focus of the event committee. Therefore, in addition to the involvement of joint personnel from the Polri, the TNI, local governments, Pecalang (traditional Indonesian military), and community elements, the event committee also provided space for MSMEs to directly experience the economic benefits of the event.
“We’re also involving MSMEs, including providing encouragement to the participants,” said the officer, who also served as the Director of Traffic for the Polda Metro Jaya with a smile.
Another interesting aspect is that, in addition to being a sporting event, the 2026 Wondr Kemala Run also has a strong social mission, raising humanitarian donations. The committee gave participants and the public the opportunity to donate, including by auctioning paintings by children with special needs.

The Wondr Kemala Run 2026 in Bali received widespread appreciation for its proven ability to drive economic growth while also strengthening social awareness.
“We can also donate here, and there’s also an auction of paintings by children with special needs. All funds raised will be distributed to areas affected by the recent disaster, particularly in Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and West Java,” explained Brigjen Pol Sambodo.
I Gede Nandya Oktora Panasea, an economic observer from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Udayana University, also acknowledged the impact of this statement from an economic perspective. He stated, that the 2026 Wonder Kemala Run event has proven to be a significant stimulus for Bali’s economic growth, which currently stands at 5,82 percent year-on-year, higher than the national average.
“Bali’s economy is highly dependent on mobility. When we can attract thousands of people, it is estimated that there will be an economic stimulus through consumption in the accommodation, trade, and transportation sectors,” said Nandya.
He also explained that with approximately 11.000 participants and certain spending patterns, the potential economic turnover during the event is estimated to reach Rp110 billion to Rp140 billion. This is based on the average expenditure of participants from outside the region of around Rp10 million per person.
“Assuming around 11.000 participants and an optimistic scenario, the potential economic turnover from this event is estimated to reach Rp110 billion to Rp140 billion,” he said.
Nandya also commended the involvement of dozens of MSMEs in organizing this event. In addition to enlivening the event area, dozens of participating MSMEs also actively served the needs of participants and visitors.
“The involvement of local MSMEs is key to spreading the economic benefits of this event. It’s not just concentrated in a specific sector, but can be felt directly by the local community in a fair manner,” he argued.
Wondr Kemala Run 2026, Nandya continued, is clear evidence that sporting events have the powerful ability to drive economic growth while also strengthening social awareness.
