progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, expressed his high appreciation for the many facilities provided by the Ministry of Hajj to thousands of prospective hajj pilgrims, both in terms of services and technical implementation by officials.

He also assessed, that all hajj implementation processes, implemented for the first time by the Ministry of Hajj this year, have been significantly improved compared to the previous year.

“We believe all processes are now much better. Good coordination between stakeholders is also evident in the smooth data processing, embarkation, and departure at the airport. So much better,” said Sufmi Dasco when seeing off the first group of Hajj pilgrims at Terminal 2F of Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

The effectiveness of this intended service is evident in a number of service enhancements, from increasing the number of embarkation points, strengthening the use of fast-track services, improving the quality of catering with cost-effectiveness, to the distribution of hajj cards in Indonesia.

The same is true from a technical perspective. From the issuance of visas by hajj officials to the distribution of pilgrim cards, everything has been running optimally, and the smoothness of the hajj organization has improved compared to the previous year.

All of these factors play a crucial role in facilitating the entire journey for Indonesian pilgrims departing for the Holy Land.

“We can see that almost 60 percent of the facilities have been provided for pilgrims. For example, they no longer have to go through the government there (Saudi Arabia),” said Sufmi Dasco.

“All visas have been processed as of a few days ago. So, I think this year’s implementation is indeed better than last year,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf stated, that his ministry has indeed made several breakthroughs to facilitate the departure process for prospective pilgrims to the Holy Land. One of these is the pilgrim card system.

“Alhamdulillah, preparations are complete, including the pilgrim cards, which have been 100 percent processed in Indonesia. All that remains is to distribute them to pilgrims for activation,” he said.

The 2026 Hajj pilgrimage for 1447 Hijri is also considered to have special significance because it is being held during a time of heightened global geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran.

The dynamics of this conflict in the Middle East have also raised concerns for the government and all prospective pilgrims some time ago.

Nevertheless, the Central Government has assured its commitment to providing maximum protection for all pilgrims.

Intensive coordination with various relevant parties continues to be intensified to ensure the security, safety, and comfort of pilgrims during their stay in the Holy Land. Furthermore, this marks the first time the Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has fully assumed the mandate of organizing the Hajj, after the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
