progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The report filed by the Advocacy Team for Democracy (TAUD) regarding the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus has been transferred by the Directorate of General Crimes (Dittipidum) of the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) to Polda Metro Jaya. This step was taken due to considerations of investigative effectiveness.

The Director of General Crimes at the Bareskrim Polri, Brigjen Pol Wira Satya Triputra stated in a statement, that the report bears similarities to a case previously handled by the Polda Metro Jaya.

“Coz the locus (location) and tempus (time) are the same, and the object of the case is also the same, that’s the reason for the transfer,” said Brigjen Pol Wira at the Bareskrim Polri building in South Jakarta, Friday, May 8, 2026.

Brigjen Pol Wira also dismissed the perception that the transfer of the case was due to limited resources at the Bareskrim Polri. He stated, that investigators at the Polda Metro Jaya have already made extensive efforts to investigate the case.

“That’s not the issue (of resources). For us at the Bareskrim, it’s like a gas station, starting from scratch,” said Brigjen Pol Wira.

“Meanwhile, there (Polda Metro Jaya), evidence has been collected and witnesses have been interviewed,” he added.

Although the official report has been submitted to the Polda Metro Jaya, Brigjen Pol Wira said, Bareskrim will not relinquish its responsibility. They will continue to monitor and provide assistance throughout the legal process.

“We will continue to provide assistance from the beginning of this case,” he emphasized.

For the record, the Advocacy Team for Democracy (TAUD) has reported the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus to the Bareskrim Polri. The report will be registered as a Type B report, or a report filed directly by the victim.

The TAUD report was registered under number LP/B/136/IV/2026/SPK/BARESKRIM POLRI dated April 8, 2026.

KontraS Coordinator, Dimas Bagus Arya stated in a statement, that this step was a follow-up to the transfer of evidence and instructions from the Ditreskrimun of the Polda Metro Jaya to the Indonesian National Armed Forces’ Military Police Center (Puspom) regarding the case.

“So today, we followed up by filing a Type B report, a direct report from the victim, represented by TAUD. This report was submitted to Polri Headquarters, specifically to the General Crimes Division,” Dimas explained to reporters at Polri Headquarters in South Jakarta on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

In the report, TAUD included allegations of attempted premeditated murder. They also used articles related to terrorism.

“The article we also submitted in the report is Article 459, which concerns attempted premeditated murder. We also address what President Prabowo stated yesterday, stating that Andrie’s actions constituted an act of terrorism. Therefore, we are also using the criminal law on terrorism,” Dimas explained.

As a reminder, the Polda Metro Jaya has already handled the acid attack on Andrie Yunus. However, this case was later transferred to the Indonesian Military Police Center (Puspom TNI).

Puspom TNI has named four active-duty TNI members as suspects. The case has now been filed and is undergoing trial at the Jakarta Military Court.
