The event was attended by President Prabowo Subianto and the Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

On this occasion, Kapolri Listyo Sigit expressed his gratitude for the support of the President and all parties involved in strengthening the national food security program.

Kapolri Listyo Sigit also emphasized, the Polri’s commitment to supporting food sovereignty by strengthening production and downstreaming agricultural products.

“We also express our gratitude for the support of ministries and institutions, regional governments, as well as farmers and partners,” said the Kapolri.

He also explained, that in 2025, the Polri had contributed to corn planting on hundreds of thousands of hectares of land, producing millions of tons of corn nationally, thus contributing to increased national food production.

Meanwhile, in the first quarter of 2026, the Polri recorded harvests on tens of thousands of hectares of land, yielding hundreds of thousands of tons of corn.

In the second quarter of 2026, another major harvest will be held on nearly 189.760 hectares of land, with a potential production of around 1,23 million tons of corn.

He also stated, that part of the harvest will be absorbed for domestic needs, while the remainder has the potential to enter the export market through collaboration with farmer cooperatives in border areas.

In addition to increasing production, the Polri has also strengthened food security infrastructure by building storage warehouses in various regions.

During this major harvest, the groundbreaking ceremony for 10 new food security warehouses will also increase national storage capacity to dozens of units across Indonesia.

“The Polri is committed to developing an agricultural ecosystem from upstream to downstream, starting from providing land and seeds, providing farmer assistance, and absorbing harvested crops,” said Kapolri Listyo Sigit.

He added, that strengthening the food sector is also part of supporting government programs to improve farmer welfare and stabilize national food prices.

He also explained, that the Polri has strengthened farmers’ access to financing through the People’s Business Credit (KUR). Thousands of farmers have utilized this access for seeds, fertilizer, and agricultural equipment.

“We hope that support for this access to financing can continue to be strengthened so that more productive land can be developed,” said Kapolri Listyo Sigit again.
