progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – An online media outlet based in Jakarta is attempting to act rogue in the jurisdiction of the Polda of West Java. The rogue behavior in question involves broadcasting a slanted news item disrupting the service unit within the Driver’s License Administration Service Unit (Satpas). Even more ridiculous, the media outlet confidently published similar news items targeting three locations within a single day. First, the Polres of Sukabumi City Satpas was harassed on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Then, the Polres of Tasikmalaya Satpas on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, and finally, the Polresta of Bandung Satpas on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

Due to journalistic ethics, the name of the media outlet will not be disclosed in this narrative. The initials TPP and the .com domain are sufficient. However, the title of the disturbing narrative is not permitted.  The first disturbing headline was “Polres of Sukabumi City Satpas Allegedly Rampant Extortion and Brokerage, Fees Reach Three Times the Official Regulation.” The second disturbing headline was “Polres of Tasikmalaya Satpas Allegedly Rampant Extortion, Officer with the Rank of Bripka Allegedly Received Fees of Up to Rp600.000 for “SIM Shooting”. The final headline was “SIM Brokerage Practices Still Rampant at Polres of Soreang Satpas, Foreign Brokers Allegedly Involved.”

According to news reporting regulations, these three disturbing stories were broadcast without seeking clarification and ensuring a balanced presentation. The narratives also tended to be defamatory or libelous due to the lack of a clear legal basis. They were more opinionated, if not to be called free and beautiful fabrications.

Based on statements from several police officers at the three public service locations, the broadcast news did not provide detailed sources for the statements contained in the narratives. Furthermore, the figures featured in the narratives were only identified by initials.

“It’s like the narrative in the Sukabumi City Satpas using the title “extortion is rampant, with fees up to three times higher.” What legal basis is there for saying something like that in a headline? It’s already a hoax and slander,” grumbled the Head of the Polres of Sukabumi City Traffic Unit, AKP Ridwan Sandhi Maulana.

A similar statement was made by the Head of the Polres of Tasikmalaya Traffic Unit, AKP Didit Permadi. “The Tasikmalaya Satpas is reported to be experiencing rampant extortion, with a Bripka  extorting up to Rp600.000. Who is the Bripka? Why don’t you just show them if it’s true so we can take action immediately?” he exclaimed.

A similar statement was made by the Head of the Polresta of Bandung Traffic Unit, Kompol Ega Prayudi. He even called the writer’s language rich in fancy, contrived sentences.

 “The author was quite confident in the title, ‘SIM brokering is still rampant, with foreign brokers suspected of involvement.’ The legal evidence wasn’t provided; it was just a bunch of nonsense.
