Polda Metro Jaya Handle Sexual Violence Case by Skates Coach Against Minor

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya Directorate of Investigation for the Protection of Women and Children and the Eradication of Human Trafficking (Ditres PPA and PPO) is handling a case of alleged sexual violence against a child by a skates or inline skate coach in South Tangerang. The case is being handled with the utmost care and prioritizing the victim’s protection.

The Director of Investigation for the Protection of Women and Children and the Eradication of Human Trafficking (Dirres PPA and PPO at the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Rita Wulandari stated in a statement, that the victim of the abuse is a 16-year-old minor. Therefore, the investigation must be carried out carefully and in stages, taking into account the victim’s psychological condition.

“In cases involving minor victims, we ensure that the handling process prioritizes the protection, support, and recovery of the victim,” said Kombes Pol Rita on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

She also explained, that the case stemmed from a relationship between a coach and his student at a sports club. Investigators suspect that the suspect exploited the trust he had in his role as coach towards the victim.

“Based on preliminary investigation results, the suspect is suspected of exploiting a trusted relationship with the victim as a trainer. These incidents occurred over a period of time in South Tangerang and South Jakarta,” explained Kombes Pol Rita.

She said, the case came to light after the victim’s family learned of communication between the victim and the suspect. After receiving assistance, the victim underwent a phased examination and finally recounted the events she experienced.

“Investigators have questioned the victim, her family, relevant witnesses, psychologists, digital forensic experts, and medical personnel to strengthen the evidence in the case,” Kombes Pol Rita further explained.

Separately, the Head of Sub-Directorate 3 of the Directorate of PPA and PPO, Kompol Donny Kristian Bara’langi stated, that investigators have secured several pieces of electronic evidence and supporting documents in this case.

“The victim is being supported continuously. We want to ensure that she remains in a safe environment during the legal process,” said Kompol Donny.

Reflecting on this case, the Police also issued an appeal to parents, families, and educational and sports institutions to increase supervision of their children.  If you know or suspect any violence against children, report it immediately to the nearest police station or contact the Polri Call Center at 110.
