progresifjaya.co.id, SOUTH LAMPUNG – A remarkable achievement. In just 19 days, from May 13 to 31, 2026, the Polda of Lampung successfully eliminated 75 street crime cases, including aggravated theft (curat), theft with violence (curas), and motor vehicle theft (curanmor).

From these operations, 95 criminals were apprehended, along with hundreds of pieces of evidence, including the proceeds of the crimes and the means used by the perpetrators.

Kapolda of Lampung, Irjen Pol Helfi Assegaf explained in an official statement, that this achievement demonstrates the Polda of Lampung commitment to ensuring public safety and ensuring a full and effective reduction in crime rates in Lampung Province.

He stated, that this achievement was also thanks to the support of the JANJI JAGA (Quick Response) Patrol at the Regional Police (Polda) and Resort Police (Polres) levels. All units actively patrol crime-prone areas and during peak hours and respond quickly to public reports. This includes thwarting all detected street crimes.

According to Kapolda Irjen Pol Helfi, based on analysis and evaluation, the modus operandi used by these bandits is quite diverse.

In theft cases, for example, the perpetrators generally break doors or windows using tools such as crowbars and screwdrivers, and take advantage of empty houses or buildings.

In theft cases, the perpetrators intimidate, ambush on deserted roads, and forcibly seize the victim’s valuables.

For motorcycle theft, T-keys are a common tool. They also use vehicles for borrowing, or pretend to be buyers in cash-on-delivery (COD) transactions to then flee.

In a sweep of detected street crime, the Polda of Lampung and its officers successfully confiscated 410 pieces of evidence and cash worth Rp18.377.000.

The confiscated evidence included two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles, cell phones, vehicle documents, homemade firearms, sharp weapons, ammunition, and various other items of crime.

Furthermore, Irjen Pol Helfi also emphasized, that the Polda of Lampung will continue to prioritize preemptive, preventive, and repressive measures to suppress street crime.

“Routine patrols will continue to be increased, targeting crime-prone areas based on the results of periodic analysis and evaluation,” said Irjen Pol Helfi.

In addition, officers are actively providing education and appeals to the public to increase vigilance and fully participate in maintaining environmental security.

Meanwhile, regarding law enforcement, the Polda of Lampung also ensure that all police actions are in accordance with laws and human rights principles.

However, any bandits who stubbornly resist, attempt to flee, or otherwise endanger the safety of the public and officers will be subject to firm, measured action, and gunfire, in accordance with applicable regulations.

Furthermore, Irjen Pol Hefli also urged the public to remain vigilant. Always use double locks when parking vehicles, and immediately report any crimes or suspicious activity through the Polri hotline 110.

Active public participation is considered a key factor in creating a safe, orderly, and conducive public order and security situation throughout Lampung Province.

“Security is a shared responsibility. The Polda of Lampung will continue to be present to provide the best protection, guidance, and service to the public. We will not give any room for street criminals in Lampung Province. If they dare to appear, we will eradicate them,” Irjen Pol Hefli emphasized.
