Operation Patuh Jaya, June 8-21, 2026, Priority License Plate Violations to be Prosecuted

Director of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Komarudin.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of the Polda Metro Jaya will simultaneously hold Operation Patuh Jaya 2026 from June 8 to 21, 2026. This regional operation aims to improve security, safety, order, and smooth traffic flow (Kamseltibcarlantas) within the Polda Metro Jaya jurisdiction.

The Director of Traffic (Dirlantas) of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Komarudin stated in an official statement, that this year’s Operation Patuh Jaya is a follow-up to the results of a coordination meeting led by him and relevant stakeholders.

This operation is being implemented based on various ongoing phenomena, including the significant growth in vehicle traffic.

“Jakarta itself has recorded vehicle growth of around 3 percent. With such rapid growth in vehicle numbers, a higher level of compliance is required from drivers,” said Kombes Pol Komarudin to reporters at the Polda Metro Jaya Headquarters on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

Operation Patuh Jaya 2026 will also involve 2.798 joint personnel from the Polri, the TNI, the Transportation Agency, and the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP).

This year’s operation, Kombes Pol Komarudin continued, will prioritize three main stages. First, public outreach and education. Then, preventive measures through the deployment of personnel in the field. Finally, law enforcement against traffic violations will be implemented.

This is different from previous years, which prioritized an educational and preventive approach. For Operation Patuh Jaya 2026, the portion of law enforcement has been increased to 50 percent. Meanwhile, preventive activities will receive 30 percent, and preemptive or educational activities will receive 20 percent.

“Given the current traffic conditions, which require more serious attention, we have increased our law enforcement efforts to 50 percent,” said Kombes Pol Komarudin.

This year’s operation targeted 10 priority violations. One of these was vehicles lacking Motor Vehicle Registration Plates (TNKB) or license plates as required.

This violation was prioritized because a number of vehicles, particularly sports motorcycles and big bikes (moge), were still found without complete license plates, either on the front or rear.

Furthermore, there has recently been a phenomenon of drivers deliberately removing their rear license plates to avoid being caught by electronic ticketing (E-TLE) cameras.

“The regulations require every vehicle to have a complete TNKB. Therefore, visible violations like this will be a focus of Operation Patuh Jaya 2026,” he emphasized.

Finally, the Director of Traffic for the Polda Metro Jaya also appealed to the public to play a role in fostering a culture of orderly traffic and complying with all applicable regulations. If not, we’ll take strict action, okay, Director. Peace.
