The 2026 Indonesian National Road Championships will be held in Pangandaran Regency, West Java.
progresifjaya.co.id, PANGANDARAN – The 2026 Indonesian Road National Championships (Kejurnas) will be held in Pangandaran Regency, West Java, from Thursday, June 18, 2026, to Sunday, June 21, 2026. The event is organized by the Indonesian Cycling Federation (ICF). A total of 456 athletes from 25 provinces will compete in four different race formats across eight categories to compete for the national title.
The national championships will feature a total of 96 medals, consisting of 32 gold, 32 silver, and 32 bronze medals.
The start and finish will be at Paamprokan Square, located at the southern entrance of the Grand Pangandaran complex. The cycling track is also attractively designed, combining the beauty of modern urban planning with Pangandaran’s unique natural charm.
After taking off from the starting line at Paamprokan, the racers immediately raced through the expansive and well-maintained streets of the Grand Pangandaran area. After exiting the area, the athletes embarked on a challenging, iconic, and visually pleasing coastal route, starting with Batu Hiu Beach, Batukaras Beach, Madasari Beach, and passing through the exotic Green Canyon area.
This collaboration between the Pangandaran Regency Government, the Indonesian Cycling Federation (ICF) and the Indonesian Cycling Association (ISIS) of West Java also serves as a stepping stone for Pangandaran to become more trusted and regularly host major events in the future.
The Head of the Registration and Identification Polres of Pangandaran Traffic Unit, Ipda Harry Santoso, stated in a statement, The Head of the Polres of Pangandaran Traffic Unit, AKP Firman Hidayat Pinim, as the field commander, was directly involved in leading the escort and security for this event.
Escort for this event was conducted using a four-way sweeper system. The first is the opening escort, the second stage sweeper escort, the third stage sweeper escort, and the BM motorbike escort.
The sweeper escort refers to vehicles or officers who cover and open the road, tasked with securing the convoy, sweeping the lines to ensure no participants are left behind, and providing warnings to other road users.
“The Polres of Pangandaran deployed 250 personnel for security escorts, traffic engineering, and floating at crucial points such as intersections and T-junctions on provincial roads. They also implemented open-close, one-way, counter-flow, or timed intervals, as well as the installation of signs and banners during the event,” said Ipda Harry.
And during the three days of the event, only three minor accidents occurred due to human error between athletes. The first was due to overtaking, then on a descent and on a corner. The rest of the events were safe. 86.
