progresifjaya.co.id, BOGOR – The Class IIA Gunung Sindur Narcotics Prison introduced a service breakthrough by bringing health services and correctional information directly into the inmates’ housing blocks through the Healthy Saturday program held in the Brahma Block on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
This initiative allows inmates to access health checks, medical consultations, and information related to their prison rights without having to leave the housing area.
Officers from the Gunung Sindur Narcotics Prison Primary Clinic provided direct health checks to inmates with medical complaints.
This service is provided to ensure that inmates’ health is monitored and they receive the necessary treatment.
The activity was attended by the Head of the Education and Training Section, Gaffar Waliyondi, the Head of the Security and Order Administration Section, Heri Purnomo, and registration officers.
In addition to providing health services, Community Guidance and Care (Bimkemaswat) officers, along with the Registration Department, also provide correctional information services within the residential blocks.
Inmates are given the opportunity to consult directly and transparently regarding remissions, integration programs, correctional rights, and the expiry of their sentences.
The Head of the Correctional Security Unit (KPLP) at Gunung Sindur Narcotics Penitentiary, Bagus Dwi Siswandono, stated that this program demonstrates the prison’s commitment to ensuring that all inmates receive easily accessible services.
“We want to ensure that every inmate receives fast, transparent, and targeted services,” Bagus stated in a press release on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
“The presence of officers directly within the blocks also ensures that the information inmates receive comes from official and accountable sources,” he continued.
According to him, the direct presence of services in the residential blocks not only facilitates access to health care but also strengthens transparency regarding inmates’ rights during the rehabilitation process.
The Healthy Saturday program is part of the Gunung Sindur Narcotics Prison’s efforts to provide more accessible, responsive services that are oriented toward fulfilling the rights of inmates.
All services provided in this program are guaranteed to be free of charge.
With this proactive approach, the Gunung Sindur Narcotics Prison hopes to improve the quality of correctional services while strengthening a healthy, transparent, and sustainable rehabilitation process.
