The excellent service model of the Polres of Ciamis Satpas.

progresifjaya.co.id, CIAMIS – Unsubstantiated rumors have been circulating claiming that obtaining a driver’s license (SIM) at the Polres of Ciamis (Driver’s License Administration Unit (Satpas) is expensive and involves illegal levies.

It was even alleged that obtaining a Class C license (motorcycle) in Ciamis cost Rp600.000 and a Class A license (car) cost Rp900.000. In reality, however, these claims are false; the process and costs in this area adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and are free from illegal levies. The following is a verified, firsthand account:

Some time ago, an online media outlet circulated reports alleging illegal levies regarding driver’s license processing at the Polres of Ciamis Traffic Unit (Satlantas) Satpas office. Beyond mere reporting, there were also attempts at intimidation involving the transmission of a draft narrative alleging illegal levies—claims that lacked any legal basis.

These reports and the absurd intimidation draft were ultimately refuted directly by several driver’s license applicants in Ciamis. One such applicant was Hilmi Nur Mansyah.

A resident of the Ciherang neighborhood RT 001 RW 011, Linggasari Village, Ciamis District/Regency, Hilmi applied for a Class C license on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 11:30 WIB.

Hilmi explained, that he went through several stages in accordance with SOP during the application process. These included registration, filling out forms, obtaining a health certificate, and taking both the theory and practical exams.

After passing all the exams, officers issued his Class C license. He also stated, that there were no unlicensed middlemen (brokers/touts) involved in the licensing process at the location.

“It is not true that there are brokers for driver’s license processing at the Polres of Ciamis Satlantas Satpas office. I handled my Class C license application directly with the officers, following the SOP,” said Hilmi, as quoted by the author from a trusted source. 

He also emphasized, that the fee for processing the Class C (motorcycle) driver’s license adhered to the Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) regulations, costing only Rp100.000.

“I paid Rp100.000 for the Class C license processing fee, in accordance with PNBP regulations, and paid it directly to the BRI officer stationed at the Satlantas licensing office. So, claims that the cost for a Class C license in Ciamis is Rp600.000 are untrue. There are no illegal levies either,” he asserted.

A similar statement was made by an applicant named Iftah Azis. A resident of Sirnarasa Hamlet, Bleber Village RT 003 RW 01, Cimaragas District, Ciamis Regency, he obtained a Class A (car) driver’s license at the Polres of Ciamis  licensing center on Friday, July 24, 2026.

He stated, that he spent only Rp120.000 for the Class A license, excluding the costs for the medical and psychological tests. That amount was paid directly to BRI.

“Honestly, i only spent Rp120.000 for the Class A license application. I went through the entire process, including the theory and practical tests. Once i passed, my Class A license was issued immediately. There were no middlemen involved, and the news reports about illegal levies for Class A licenses at the Polres of Ciamis licensing center are lies—simply fabrications by the reporters,” Iftah asserted.

Both Hilmi and Iftah also expressed their gratitude to the Head of the Polres of Ciamis Traffic Unit (Kasatlantas), AKP Anjar Maulana, for the smooth and easy driver’s license service at the Polres of Ciamis licensing center.

“Thank you to the Head of the Polres of Ciamis Traffic Unit, as the driver’s license processing service at the Polres of Ciamis licensing office is very easy. The officers are also friendly and polite,” said Hilmi and Iftah separately.

The Head of the Registration and Identification Unit (Kanit Regident) of the Polres of Ciamis Traffic Unit, Ipda Jeni stated, that a transparent, excellent service model has long been implemented at the Polres of Ciamis licensing center. All officers have also received adequate training on the methods and technical aspects of providing excellent service that satisfies applicants. 

“We simply carry out our duties in accordance with SOP. As for the reports alleging illegal levies within the Polres of Ciamis Satpas, those are nothing more than fabrications lacking any clear legal evidence,” said Ipda Jeni on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

“Ultimately, it is likely just an attempt to make a quick buck from the stories being published. We are immune to such tactics. We have no fear, as we have been performing our work to the best of our ability,” he added.
